Quake: PURRI Picked Up By Flow Gaming

Swedish Quaker PURRI has been picked up by Flow Gaming. PURRI will represent Flow at this year's QuakeCon, where he is expected to finish very well.

Flow Gaming, one of North America's top gaming organizations has just announced that it has acquired prominent Swedish Quaker Mikael "PURRI" Tarvainen. This decision comes just days before QuakeCon 2007, where Tarvainen is expected to perform quite well, with a competitive background in three of the four Quake games. With his recent fourth place finish in France at the ESWC 2007 Finals and third in the SNL Season 2 Finas, Tarvainen has become an extremely marketable player in the Quake 4 community.

"After seeing PURRI's ability in his performance at ESWC France, he has definitely caught some attention of the general public and gaming organizations around the world. We feel that Mikael can compete at a very high level and that he can and will represent Flow Gaming in the highest and most respectable way", said Elvis "MadMan" Shapiro, Flow Gaming member.

"I look forward to playing for Flow and I think that their sponsorship will really help me develop my skills even further as a professional gamer" said Tarvainen when asked about his thoughts on being sponsored by Flow. I also asked him about his thoughts on this years QuakeCon event and he told me "I would not consider myself as THE favorite since it's so hard to predict this tournament with 4 games. I know I have a good chance but there are a lot of good players there and you have to perform not only in 1 game but switch games and play on top in 4 games :) I am aiming for a top finish though, I think I will do good."

Tarvainen has been in and out of the spotlight in past years for his achievements as a Quake 2, Quake 3 and now Quake 4 player. Just months ago, he helped Sweden tie for 3rd/4th in the NDML Quake 2 Nations Deathmatch league.
