Saturday, the third event in the Excello Quake 4 Cup was played out with some interesting matchups, but predictable top finishers. Like any tournament, this week's Excello Quake 4 cup had it's share of no-shows, but that didn't stop the rest of the competitors from having a good tournament with some exciting matches. With some minor exceptions, the tournament went by the seeds. In the second round of the Upper Bracket, Andy "gellehsak" Ryder needed to run an errand for a bit and took the forfeit loss to Ricardo "dragaox" Bronze. Despite the unfortunate setback, Ryder would go on to dominate the field and make his way back into the Upper Bracket and ultimately, win the event. In addition to Ryder's strong performance, Maxime "Freelance" Thurston looked very strong against all his opponents, and never really faced any serious opposition, finishing second in the tournament. Both players, who are also Canadian, are expected at the WSVG Toronto Quake 4 event. 1st Place - gellehsak2nd Place - Freelance3rd Place - advent_tmIncluding this past week, here's what the Finals tournament is looking like, with only one more event in the series until the Grand Finals and two more spots that need to be filled. naymlis Judge DaHanG AZK gellehsak Freelance? ?
