QuakeCon is only one week away and the Live On Three crew is eagerly anticipating arriving in Dallas and broadcasting to the masses the great game of Quake. Quake Live is the only featured game in this year's competitions, with $50,000 on the line in two disciplines, Duel 1v1, and CTF 4v4. QuakeCon 2008 duel champion Alexey "Cypher" Yanushevsky will be returning to defend his throne against an onslaught of talent from across the globe.

The CTF action will also be highly intense as Europeans Pierre-Emeric "link1n" Portier and David 'deus' Kinnaird will also be making the trip, teaming up with Stermy and Fox, specifically for CTF. They will go up against top American teams Evil Geniuses and eMazing Gaming. Jam-packed Quake Live action will be joined by new footage and information on new releases Wolfenstein and RAGE, as well as John Carmack's annual keynote, will make this another great QuakeCon.

And with all of this coming up, we have a very special show for you guys this week. Joining us will be Id Software and Quake Live's Executive Producer Marty Stratton, who's the leader of the Quake Live project overall. We'll be talking to Marty regarding the lead up to this year's QuakeCon, the preparation behind it and changes we will see this year from previous years. We will also discuss several aspects of Quake Live both on a mainstream and hardcore level, including matchmaking, social networking, private and public server features, arQon's work so far, game ratings, along with wanted features such as QLTV and Threewave maps. We will talk about id software's viewpoint with Quake Live on eSports as a whole, and the involvement of the game in such leagues as ESL, MLG, and KODE5. Also joining us will be Quake Live Community Manager Adam "SyncError" Pyle, who will discuss with us more of the nitty gritty in Quake Live, including all of the weapon and balance changes made thus far. Tournament favorites Alessandro "stermy" Avallone and Shane "rapha" Hendrixson will also be on to give their thoughts on the event with only a week left, their practice schedule, the map selection, how confident they are coming in, and who has the edge right now, USA or Europe?
