iD Software's annual Quake extravaganza gets underway in Dallas, Texas this week. The event will be host to a variety of activities centered around the game; professional tournaments, a bring your own computer network that allows anyone to bring a computer and play with everyone else there, live video streaming and more. The event will also allow iD and sponsors to showcase additional and upcoming games and products. The event will be host to the usual variety of booths, babes and geeks as well as a giveaway of a New Ford Shelby GT500 Coupe. The tournament side of the event will feature iD's new, browser based, free online version of the Quake 3 engine and gameplay. The event will include a 1v1 Masters Tournament featuring some of the biggest names in Quake competitive history. It will also feature an Open 1v1 competition open to anyone of any level as well as a Capture the Flag 4v4 competition. Players in the 1v1 Masters and CTF tournaments will be competing for $50,000.
