Blizzard has announced the long awaited sequel to is phenomenal real time strategy game series, Starcraft. Much to the delight of squealing, giddy Korean fans, Blizzard unveiled the new game in a video presentation to the audience in attendance at the event last night. So far the excitement is compounding and all indications so far is that Blizzard has scored big. The official website has also been launched at www.starcraft2.com where you will find screenshots, videos and much more of the new game. Below is an excerpt from the website announcing the new game. Featuring a unique single-player campaign that picks up where StarCraft: Brood War left off, StarCraft II will present a cast of new heroes and familiar faces in an edgy sci-fi story filled with adventure and intrigue. I doubt it'll be better than the original but it looks pretty cool. It'll be tougher to micro with 3d units but maybe Blizzard has figured it out.
It looks like a very faitfull sequel, which is good.
#14 I thought the same at first glance, but you should take a closer look at the characters polygons (zerglins specially), shadows of all the units, and the blasts made by the siege tanks.... they are amazing.
EDIT: what is the release date on this game anyways? anyone know?
It looks also that the gemplay is staying the same, no stupid huge new features that will mess it up. Realyl it looks like what SC2 should be: Same gameplay, better graphics, with some new units and features.
