Today, GotFrag’s very own Lucas “Colbi” Bigham will give his first impressions of the playable Starcraft II demo at BlizzCon. I sat down next hundreds if not thousands of eager fans yelling, screaming, and in complete awe of the sights and sounds of Blizzard’s new creation known as Starcraft II. Sitting down on the chair you realize that it has finally arrived. You put your headphones on and lay your hands on that keyboard waiting for the loading screen to complete. Finally! You see your command center or nexus in view with your peons sitting there and waiting for your command. The long wait is over and the game is finally here. Terran: For the most part, I was only able to use a limited number of units during my time spent in the Starcraft II area. This article will not discuss each and every unit available for use from both races, so my article might perhaps seem incomplete. This was the race that I was the most eager to play. Being a terran player myself I was interested in seeing what kinds of changes Blizzard had planned for my favorite race. Out of the two playable races at BlizzCon, the terran seemed to be the one that felt much less like the original. While many units, buildings, and various other features of the race were all still intact, the models have been drastically changed. At first I was skeptical, my mind could not focus and playing this race did not even feel like I was playing Starcraft anymore. That lasted at least for a couple of moments up until I moved out of my base with my first offensive force of marines. Let’s begin with the SCV, the heart and soul of the terrans economy, and first unit that I had the opportunity to select in my first demo experience. In original Starcraft I was a fan of the larger size of this unit compared to the probe or the drone. However, in Starcraft II it seems as though this unit’s size has been slightly reduced. Maybe I was lazy, but I always felt that the SCV was the easiest to do a split with which was one of the reasons why I chose to stick with terran. Page:
