I played zerg/terran a long time ago when I was really terrible and only had a downloaded version of the game. I switched to protoss when I got the game because my friend also played protoss so he was able to help me the most with protoss.
im still pretty nooby though, only been playing two months. Actually ive played for two years but then i quit for like 3 years and now i started up again. I used to play toss but i find zerg much more fun and amusing :D Plus they kick ass. besides i wasnt into melee back then, more into ums. but now im focusing on melee and still a little bit of ums
Started as a Terran, lost my skill, became Protoss, lost my skill, now Zerg. Won't be long before i lose my Zerg skill and then i will have to change back to Terran.

im starting to get back into toss, the shields and ability to start a build and walk away has alot of potential for amazing strategies , although they are expensive a good player can prioritize money, buildings, and units all at once fairly easily, along with the zealot being invaluable in basically any ground situation. toss in my pov just has more power if used correctly. if they tank you can simply get leg upgrades and smoke them before they get a second shot off, marines = demolished zerglings usually arent a problem, hydras get demolished as well, vs a dragoon zealots just rock them. protoss has pro in front for a reason :)
I`m playing almost all the time with Zerg . Easy to control and you don`t need such a good micromanagement as you need when playing terran . Toss is second best in my top :D

I like to flank with raw units instead of keeping up with magic casters
I like raw units but I suck with the whole hatchery thing.... and terran didn't work out that great.
terran : balance of power and price
zerg : cheap but fairly weak
protoss : expensive but powerful
