Could May 19th officially be the date when Starcraft 2 is finally announced to the public? We will just have to wait and see.
For many years, there has been talk about Blizzard Entertainment possibly creating a sequel to the ever popular Starcraft. However, most of the talk seemed to be nothing more than just rumors. Unlike in past years though, much more clues have turned up this year involving Blizzard’s unnamed project which could very well be Starcraft 2. The first clues regarding this new project involved a leaked CEVO ventrilo meeting and a statement from Itzik Ben Bassat, the Vice President of business development and international issues for Blizzard Entertainment states, “I'm a StarCraft player myself and I hope it's not a decade, and we launched StarCraft in 1998, before I'm standing here again, celebrating the next game in the series!”. The second incident is the leaked CEVO ventrilo meeting where Charlie Plitt, the president of CEVO mentions that Blizzard is planning to announce Starcraft 2 in the coming months.
After a couple of months without much word about Starcraft 2, an article has been published by
ThisIsGame.com stating that Starcraft 2 will be officially announced at the “World Wide Invituational (WWI)” hosted by Blizzard Entertainment in South Korea. If all of this hype turns out being true, this could very well be one of the biggest announcements this year.
