Eight top players from China are fighting for the chance to earn the four remaining spots in the upcoming PGL Final Qualifier on May 15th-27th.
The PGL China finals are among one of the most prestigious gaming events in all of mainland China. Out of the sixteen finalists, eight of them are Chinese. However, the other eight will be traveling all the way from South Korea and other various parts of the world. All of their accommodations will be paid for including food, drinks, and of course lodging for the duration of their trip.
The prize pool is rather substantial for a Starcraft tournament and perhaps the largest excluding the World Cyber Games. The winner of this event will be taking home 4,000 euro, while the second and third place finisher will bring home 1,500 and 1,000 euro. This amount of money will certainly bring an added level of competition to this event.

Today, we have just discovered that Greg "IdrA" Fields has dropped out of this competition due to it interfering with his studies. To fill his spot, the 5th and 6th place finishers Stephen "Smuft" King and Igor "Fraer" Turchin will play, and the winner will take the spot of the American.
