Great movie. Some of the frags are just ridiculous like nading scouts in midair. I love those. You got the skillz to pay the billz...oh and first post.
#13 For a Demo, close-medium range direct-hit air-shots on Scouts aren't actually terribly hard -- it's much easier for a Demo than a Soldier.
This is because it's easy to predict what trajectory a jumping Scout is taking (because it's fixed if he doesn't double-jump or has already double-jumped, of course), and aim accordingly. And what makes it easier for a Demo than a Soldier, is the fact that a Demo's grenade travels at about the same velocity as the Scout himself, whereas a Soldier's rocket goes much faster, and thus that's an extra complicating factor to leading the shot.
But anyway, about the movie... the best thing about it is the high resolution and 50 fps. I think that's the first frag movie I've ever seen with 50 fps, and it definitely makes the footage gorgeous to watch. Heavy price for it, though -- only 7 minutes of footage for half a gigabyte.
Some of the frags are great (particularly in some of the extended runs Chode goes on), but some are pretty average. What makes many of the frags unremarkable is that it appears the players he's getting the kills on just aren't very good/smart, and they're making it easy for Chode -- or at least that's the way they happen to be playing during that moment in the clip.
The music is terrible. Although I realize musical taste is subjective, so meh. But #12's right... taste aside, the music is painfully cliche for a frag movie.
For some reason when I attempt to watch the movie I am only able to see half what's going on because the screen drags and becomes all pixelated. Any advice?
Air hits with grenades arent exactly easy either... Have to deal with a projectile which is slow ( not sure why you think this makes it easier?!? ) and doesnt fly straight. It also comes out off center from the crosshair.
I agree that close range isnt hard... but then again its not hard for any class to get a close range hit is it! Medium range is another thing imo. Because the grenade flies so slowly, theres always a good change your target will change direction and youll miss. This is where Soldiers have the advantage because rockets fly alot faster and fly straight. Its also easier to knock people into the air with your rockets thanks to the splash damage!
As for all the people asking for Youtube... I cant stand watching frag movies in anything like Youtube :( the quality is appauling
#24 It's true that I'm much stronger as a Soldier than as a Demo, but these couple of months I've been trying to improve my Demo skills... and the first thing I noticed was how easily I was connecting with air-shots using the primary launcher.
And I got to thinking about it, which led me to my theory that it's about the velocity of a grenade versus the velocity of player movement being more even than it is for a rocket, which at least for me, seems to make scoring direct-hits easier.
Oh, and something else I didn't mention before is that it's harder for an enemy to track the flight of grenades and stickies than it is to track a rocket -- because of the lack of a smoke-trail, of course -- and so that makes it more likely an enemy isn't going to successfully avoid a grenade on a path to hit them, despite being a slower projectile than a rocket.

Try using VLC media player for example. Works great with it (atleast for me)

Pipe launcher NEEDS a direct hit or else the scout will own you.
RPG can just shoot the ground near the scout and wear him down.
