Well, i want to make my FPS better. I've put all my settings on low. But people have been saying that if i set something with DirectX my fps would boost dramatically.
I need to know anything else i can do to get good FPS thanks.

lower your res
-dxlevel 81
turn ragdolls off
mat_queue_mode 2 if you have a dual core. but it does make tf2 quite unstable, I cant alt tab without crashing the game.

will turning your dxlevel down from 9 to 81 affect other games? will removing the command from launch options reset dx level back to your default dx?

#4 Only in the game that you set the launch options to. Also if you remove the commands it resets to default.

put it in your autoexec

in response to your other post
1. make a new text file and add all your commands there
2. save as autoexec.cfg
3. place it into tf2/tf/cfg

don't just go with the lowest resolution. when i had to run an fps config, for some reason, 1024x768 ran the highest frames on my computer. so experiment with different settings and finds what runs best for YOU. it may take a few days to find your optimal settings.
