bout time.. tired of playin the same old maps.. zzz same strats same lineup same boredom... dustbowl is the only map that gives importance to every class.
I agree, dstbowl is a good choice. It offers a chance for all classes to play, something that many maps do not. TF2 is suffering from stagnation in terms of strategy, it's about time a more 9-class friendly map is being played.
I agree, good thing to have it in the playoffs, it actually gives some diversity to the map styles because I wouldnt exactly call junction a great map, and its the only other stopwatch map besides gpit. Someone should make a cp_pro_dustbowl where the last stage is removed from the map :O then it wouldn't drag out too long which seemed to be everyones problem with playing it.
I basically agree with #16. It doesn't bog down as hard with only 12 people (and Demo limits) and the design in terms of positions and firing angles is actually pretty good, unlike Goldrush, but it still takes much longer to finish Dustbowl than I actually feel like playing Dustbowl for.

dustbowl is fun as hell, and like brandon said i'm glad to see something different from the same 4 maps that are played all the time. sure, it takes a long time, and that sucks, but at least now there is some kind of variety.
well there was a time when it was way over played but it went out of most rotations for a very long time. now people are getting bored of the other maps its a good time to bring it back into play.
If they decide to add 2fort the competition will really heat up..
Seriously though, I like dustbowl, even as a competitive map. It's only fault is that it's so long. But taking steps to shorten it would ruin the map. Should be fun to watch at least.
If dustbowl was reworked and changed the cap times drastically (like gpit caps) and also changed distance to each point it would probably be a way better map...
Because of the way it's designed, the main problem with this map is that matches end up taking too long. Modifying the map, as some have suggested, would definitely make a great addition to the usual maps played in competitions.
