I realize that I'm pretty much a nobody but I'm stoned and bored so I felt like doing some preds for the first round of the cevo-p playoffs. I don't have a clue how any of these guys traditionally do on dustbowl, but in general I think the map favors the teams with the quickest ability to react to strats they haven't seen before as well as strong utility players.
Pandemic over Xensity 2-1: I think Xen gets overlooked sometimes as far as the top few teams go, but they are certainly capable of beating just about anyone on a given night, especially on a map that I think suits them like dustbowl (with Solid Snake at demo, e engy). However, Pandemic is still Pandemic and with Dummy back I just can't see them losing more than one round of this match.
Check Six over Dynamic 2-0: I remember Dynamic surprising Check Six on gravel pit earlier in the season, and Dynamic had a nice win over sway. recently, but Check Six is just too strong across the board right now in my opinion to lose a round Monday.
Sway Gaming over iDemise 2-1: This should be a great game. I think the teams are very evenly matched, just about as close as it gets (hopefully the hltv gets uploaded). I'm going to give the edge to destro's crew even though I think iD plays a very solid game, mainly because of sway's enthusiasm for the map and the versatility of their lineup.
Apoplexy Industries over eMazing Gaming 2-1: Another game that should be very entertaining. AI has impressed me for a long time and it's easy to see that they have improved tremendously over the course of the season. They always seem to have good teamwork and really take advantage of opportunities that present themselves. I'm sure DL will be playing spy and Biggy sniper for stretches of this match which I think has to give AI an edge on any map. Combine this with carnage being out of action for eMg and I like AI's chances; but it won't be easy by any means.
AI is 9-6 and eMg is 13-3 (one BYE win). eMg has beat every team AI has, as well as beaten AI already once before with a score of 5-0. Lost the second time 2-5, which is not a beating by any means. I think eMg will come out on top, they seem to be doing really well.
Can easily say Dynamic < Check Six it seems, imo.
This will be the third time iDemise has played a team twice, previously losing once and winning the other. I think they stand a good chance if they come out strong.
Xen seems to barely be pulling off wins, most off teams that they play are doing the same. Hopefully they get a round or two at least.
eMg ISN'T the same without carnage. saber and him learned how to work together quite well throughout the season, there's no way that someone else can just sub in and be quite as effective. AI has been together for what seems like forever. There's a good chance they could pull it off with their utility players.
AI? Not really, there are at least 4 core members still on that team. Maybe even 5. Jaeger was a solid pickup that they desperately needed and that solidified them as a top 6 team.
doesnt emg have hubris now? thats a pretty formidable (WORD OF THE DAY) scout combo w/ saberr...plus im sure many rds were lost after carnage's laughing would force every member to turn their sound off
Apparently CEVO decided to change the brackets and FCK my original preds up, so I guess I'll make some new ones for the updated brackets.

X6 over Sway. 2-1: Check Six has played more consistently throughout the season than Sway Gaming and they have two strong utility players in Justin and bman so it's hard to pick against them Monday. I think hero is one of the best soldiers around and if he is playing and everyone else on sway. plays well (and together) they are definitely capable of pulling out a minor upset, but my money is on X6.
AI over iD 2-1: Should be a great game. Match of the week for me. It will be interesting to see how AI reacts to someone like reen (who is a terrific utility player) on a map like dustbowl, because almost all of the matches I've seen them play the opposing team ran a standard lineup and strat. I think AI is just a little bit better at most classes than iD, so I give them the slight edge here.
eMg over Dynamic 2-0: Not much to say about this one really. Dynamic has had some good wins, and they certainly have some strong players, but eMg is just too good to lose this one in my opinion. Dropping a round wouldn't be surprising, but a loss for eMg certainly would be.
My computer decided to randomly break this weekend, so I'll most likely be playing at a LAN that charges $4/hour. On dustbowl. What a good waste of money =(.
With dynamic recruiting MAKAVELI, a very good sniper especially on a sniper map like dustbowl they have a very good chance of upsetting emg.
AI > ID
Dustbowl is probably AI's perfect map, biggs and DL are extraordinary snipers and spys. I don't think ID has a chance on this map.

Pandemic is very dominate on offense vs defense maps ie. gravelpit. Although enigma will no doubt be DOMINATING as a heavy holding down mouse1 I don't see them winning over pandemic.
