Hey folks, I'm gypsylord, the amazing recruitment chair for the incredibly attractive IRL clan uBer. As said recruitment chair it's my job to net new members, so here's my pitch:
uBer is a community clan with a competitive sub-group. We cater to pretty much everyone. Want fun? Our community is about fun. Want competition? Our comp team is about competition.
Perks: A TF2 private server to play and scrim on, a TF2 pub with a talented group of regulars to dork around on,a L4D private server to play with your friends on (no lag and no noobs unless you invite them), A website with forums for intelligent discussion and trolling of said discussions, a ventrilo server with multiple channels for secret conversations, a two tier comp team with one tier for the best of the best and one tier for subs and casual scrimmers, TWL ladders for everyone and TWL, ugc, sta, and cevo(pending) leagues for the a-team.
The only requirement for getting into our community is this: Don't be a jerk. Once in you get a great group of interweb friends to hang out with and plenty of fun ways to hang out with them.
But wait gypsylord! I'm all about the competition! I don't just wanna be in a community! Never fear, that's what our comp team is for. Requirements for the comp team? Don't be a jerk and be really good at TF2. Our comp team is just starting out, so I admit, we aren't very good yet, but we're getting better. We don't discriminate based on seniority, so any good players that want to join up can and will be stuck on a-team.
The details:
*The uBer scrim team is a subsection of the clan that is all about serious competition. I will be entering us in multiple leagues and ladders. The goal? To win. *There are two sections to the team: the “A” and “B” teams. The A team consists of about 12 players: the six person primary squad and their backups. It is highly selective and seniority is not taken into account. You can think of A-teamers as our starters. They are the best players and will always be given priority when determining who will play in a match. *The B team is the subs. In the event of someone on the A team being absent for a match B team members will be subbed in. I will also be entering the B team in a ladder or two to give them more chances to play and get practice. *Being on the A team requires two things: commitment and talent. When I say commitment I don’t mean “OMFG TF2 = YOUR ENTIREZ LIVES ROFL!,” but I do expect you to be on regularly. You should expect to be available for 3-4 scrims/practices a week. Once people start applying I plan on getting their schedules and determining times that everyone will be available. Also, it’s completely fine if you can’t be around ALL the time. Life happens and things such as vacations, emergencies, and tons of school work are fine. What I don’t want is someone who either applies knowing full well that they can only be on Mondays and Tuesdays from 9:30-11:00 or decides to miss a scrim so that they can go play Halo. *Talent is obvious. The best (best meaning general skill, team work, likability, and availability) players get to be on the A team. Players already on the team are subject to being ousted, so watch out. This also means that anyone who wants to get on a team has a chance. You just have to be better than one of the current A-teamers. Decisions as to who is on the team are made by its current members. *B team’s standards are much more lax. To be a B teamer you need commitment and that’s about it. You should try to be available for 1-2 scrims/practices a week. Provided they can make the commitment, anyone is allowed to join the B team.
Summary: We want the best of the best on our a-team, but we also accept less talented players to b-team so that they can sub as well as play in ladders.
Our A-team is currently 2-0 in UGC 7v7 and is joining TWL 6v6, STA 6v6, and Cevo once they start a new season.
