I am currently in the market for a gaming laptop under 1500, anyone have any input on what and where I should get in order to run tf2 decently enough to play?? I'm so sick and tired of waiting for my classes, that I might as well play some gathers before class. Also would wireless be an issue??
get a decent mobile GPU (one of those 9000 series NVidia ones would prob be fine) and a 2.0+ ghz dual core cpu. Also consider screen size (playing on 13" screen blows).
#9 that's not true at all anymore. There are tons of laptops that run TF2 at over 100 fps with reasonable settings... though I agree that a park bench wouldn't make for a very good mousing surface.
plenty of people run tf2 on laptops with 60+ fps. Just because you can't run a sh1tty game like crysis that has terrible fcking coding doesn't make it a useless gaming laptop. It's perfectly reasonable to want a laptop for school, and be able to play source games on the side.
Personally, i would just just get a cheap laptop for about $400-$500 and build yourself a fairly powerful gaming desktop for about $500. You'll get a more powerful gaming system and there's really no need to have an extremely powerful laptop for class or business use anyway. And you'll spend about the same amount of money.
I play on a 3 year old dell inspiron, I get 100 fps with a config, but it runs pretty smooth. I have 1 gig of ram, and an ati x1400 (I have no clue if thats good or not) since this laptop is 3 yearsold and was 1500$ back then I'm sure you can find something around this range now that will have better specs.
Toshiba Qosmio for under $1500 and a no brainer, otherwise Dell XPS. I have had mine for like 3 years and still game on it (granted it is a pimped out beast!)
Children, children..Please calm down and click the link I have posted above. It's quite easily the one positive feedback post within the entire thread that holds any amount of water.
Gaming Laptop??
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp..
35 fps is godawful in that situation
made good stuff for a decent price, and are very good if you have any problems
Don't bother. XPS M1730 runs TF2 great.. for about 2.5k. Invent me a laptop that can break 30fps on crysis and then we'll talk.
GO!
