#3 I find that quote hard to believe seeings how they have it in their pug rotation.
Besides, dont ESEA admins have very little access to anything since the system is so automated? It took 3 days to ban Brandon Roach when it was global knowledge who he was/how obvious his hacking was.
I enjoy the fact I had to pay $6 because I was unaware of the fact that your team has to play 50hours of pugs a month (no, our leader was never told either until ~3 days before we were supposed to have them played) and the site mentions nothing of this when searching for the premium; then, having a match last way longer than it should have due to the fact that nobody bothered to test the config beforehand.
I'm probably being too critical, but this little stuff annoys me when I have to pay 3 times for a league/tourney.
Your upcoming match with tba, has been scheduled for the following: When: 06/02/10 @ 1:34am UTC-6 Where: New York 084 (ny084.eseatf2.com)
Since both push and loaded players got their premium revoked suddenly last night and were unable to play their match, I was wondering how we had a match scheduled for tonight. Until I asked mithun and he told me to look at the year.
#5 We are a growing league, if you don't want to deal with our growing pains enjoy your $300 divided by 6 people in CEVO, I really don't care. Our coder f*cked up, there is nothing I can really do about that. I am not a r*tard I know dustbowl is a stop watch map, and we had it in our pug servers as that until everyone b*tched about it and we removed it. After talking to the invite teams (also where I told them about the pug hours) we decided to enter dustbowl back into the league, and our coder forgot it was a push map. It sucks that it had to happen like that and I apologize on his behalf.
I spoke to all the leaders about the 50 hours, and I know scruff had reminded you guys throughout the month. I don't get how only EG got this memo and no one else did. I don't necessarily agree with taking away your premium but there is nothing I can do about it. I am an admin to the league and I have to enforce what the league decides. You all have sponsors who can pay for it this month, and if you are so intent on having free premium you can make an honest effort to get it.
What does having a sponsor have to do with my complaint? So it would be ok if esea charges a sponsor $6 on a whim? "Hey, you guys have a third party paying for you, so we'll just charge them when we feel like it" Genius.
edit. this was directed at 7, but works for 11 too i guess.
my favorite part about the match was when the fence was magically open, and then closed as soon as players walked through it on stage 1 part 2, causing their medic and soldier to kill themselves. (around tick 40000 i think)
i told ya'll ESEA would turn out like this...but in defense of ehfk he did have a meeting with the projected teams at the time saying they would need to play 40 hrs or something? not sure if it was ever decided upon. Still revoking memberships midseason is pretty much pathetic for a big league like ESEA...I also have to pay entry into open after I already paid entry into invite because its a different prize pot?... but honestly if we're all paying premium memberships and entry fees shouldn't the league actually run smooth and the servers not lag so much? and not have special ed kids that model on the side like nickyp. gg.

yeah i remember before esea started and people were like "why should i be paying for this" esea insisted it was because of the high-quality servers and management of the league
while i have no problem with the league it seems like each week we have a problem with the client. It continued to kick one of our players, stalling a match for 45 mins one week and another our match didn't even show up until 30 mins after the schedualed time. kinda silly for paying 6 a month (x3 for the length of the season) and 5 or however to get in.
20id joined esea-i one day before the join lock and weren't involved in any "pre league meetings" notifying us of pug hours etc. its more of an annoyance than anything, since you cannot predict esea pug times and the hours only count in active pugs, not waiting for one...also 95% of the people that play esea pugs have no idea how to play the game, so its a long wait + a horrible experience leading to makaveli level rage (oftentimes no medics, people running around randomly/no structure, horrible players against good players leading to hilariously imbalanced teams, damatta)
as far as the match goes, at least the issue was solved that night and not pushed to another time. im glad esea let us play out with a set O time of 8:42 and not made us re-do the 2nd set.
also it seems like dustbowl is still too long, i've seen 15 minute attacking rounds...silly if you have to go to 3 sets...that could be a 90 minute match :/
@OP's request: Since GF's demo system isn't operational atm, you guys can upload your demos to our file section if you would like (http://communityfortress.com/component/o..
Look at that, completely inactive for 2 weeks and he doesn't understand how people can't scrounge up 50 hours to pug where you'll probably need 200 hours just sitting in the server waiting for people to show up.
I wasn't trying to flame esea. I was criticizing, what I feel, are obvious flaws with the system. If you don't want to hear criticism, then fine, I won't say anything about the league again. Their league, they can run it how they want. If I would have heard about the pugging for premium thing earlier, I would have had time to at least go afk in some CS pubs or something. But I found out about 3 days before when we had to do have it done by, I'll blame hubris I guess.
Forcing people to play pugs in order to avoid being charged fees is only going to hurt your league in the long run. It leaves a bad taste in peoples mouths and seems like you're using peoples interest in league play as leverage to force them into supporting a system which obviously isn't working as well as you'd like. Perhaps the better thing to do would be ask yourself why you have to resort to tactics like this to support your pug system while tf2gather has a hundred a week or more.
Maybe if it was a free league you could complain about people bashing you, but when you ask for a premium membership fee in edition to a league entrance fee you open yourself to criticism.
I think this has gotten a little out of hand. First off, we dont really know how many times the ESEA-I teams were told. But in reality, one time to every team should have been enough.
50 hours is a little steep, considering its ESEA PUGS and there isnt always one running. I would know because i put in 30 hours of ESEA PUG time last month..
I understand that rolling baddies in pugs isnt how you want to spend your time playing TF2, but if that was the deal made to get into invite for "free" then either get to know some of the lesser players and invite them to PUGS or pay the fee's knowing you dont want to play the 50 hours.
If people were to mature up, take their responsibilities and have a decent talk to ESEA admins, I dont think their would be an issue. But coming into gotfrag and turning a simple request thread into a bash ESEA thread, doesnt help the matter.
I was informed that there was potential setting that would include a pre-requirement to have 40-50 hours for pugs between your team/roster....... then suddenly yesterday everyones accounts were demoted down to regular members... it seems that esea wants more money! If you are trying to promote the game do it correctly... stop trying to promote your pockets and acting like you care!
I think most of this would be fixed if esea simply made the league fee a one time payment. Making members pay a monthly fee on top of a one time league fee, and also cutting deals w/ them w/o stressing the consequences just seems like bad planning.
So correct me if I'm reading this wrong. What I'm reading from this topic is:
ESEA-I members feel like they are somehow better than the rest of ESEA. They were told that they could play in the league for free if they played in 50 hours of PUGS. I agree that time requirement is too steep. However, THEY GOT THE OFFER. Does all of ESEA get that? Nope, we all have to pay the fees, and I have heard ZERO COMPLAINTS until suddenly the ESEA-I elites had to pay up along with the rest of us.

but seriously 50 hours of pugs is a bit much, especially when it takes an hour to get a pug to even start. Go back to demo uploads tbh
maybe you guys should just concede that nobody wants to play in your god awful pugs

oh and btw 50hours divided by 6 people within a 30day period really isn't much. And if it is so outrageous, pay your premium.
