Hello, I am Samuel "oPlaiD" Lingle. As an avid multigamer, I've been a leader of championship teams in a number of games, including Day of Defeat, Halo PC, Day of Defeat: Source, and now Team Fortress 2.
In addition to playing as a pro gamer, I've also been writing about them for years, as well, for various sites such as Gotfrag.comGameriot.comtheCGS.com and even two cover stories for Pro Gam3r magazine.
We can work on whatever you feel you'd like to learn. You should provide a demo of yourself in match play to help give me something to critique and show you some things you need to work on.
Scout is my main class, but in matches I need to be versatile and take advantage of Heavy, Engineer, Sniper, and Spy so don't be afraid if you'd like to learn those as well!
Topic we can cover, but are not limited to:
- Scout Movement (Special jumps to move around the map faster, the movement of combat, dodging rockets and staying alive long enough to kill a medic)
- Scout Aim (Tricks to help you kill that Medic in two or three shots every time)
- Timing and Tactics (When to push up, when to fight, when to hide, when to suicide attack their Medic - the most important part of playing)
- Team Tactics (What overall strategies work well on different maps)
- Class Switching and Versatility (How to keep opponents on their toes by using Scout as your main, but taking advantage of strategic use of classes like Heavy, Sniper, and Spy)
I am able to perform bunny hops, my best score on a public 32 player game was 171-2 with 170 kill streak. I'm offering my expertise in Starcraft to be taught to non-Koreans that wishes to have the skill of a Korean player
Hello, my name is Adam Dopko and I'm 21 years old. I've been playing video games pretty much my whole life - started playing Atari and Nintendo at the age of three or four. I was introduced to TFC (team fortress classic) in 1999, which I played competitively for 8 years. I was in very successful clans, such as Zt and ae. While in Zt, we attained a 'triple crown' - holding the title in three different leagues at the same time - only a couple clans have done this in TFC's history.
I had been looking forward to TF2 for about 6 years, so when the beta was finally released I quickly picked it up. Took me about a week to get used to the differences between TFC and TF2, but I ended up loving it. I currently play for Pandemic.TF2
Lesson Plan: Have an idea of what you want to learn and what you expect from me and I'll do my best to please you. Soldier is my main class and I can teach you anything you need to know about playing it. I have extensive knowledge of tactics and techniques that will give you that edge over your opponent. Some of the things I would be able to teach/help you with:
-Analyzing demos -How to defend your medic -Useful and tactful rocket jumping -Aiming tips -When to attack or defend -Specific strategies for all maps -Positioning for specific situations -Reading a team -Using sound to your advantage -Most effective way to use rocket launcher/shotgun -How to support your team
Seriously. I could use some help from a professional medic. What kind of help I need is like where am I supposed to go normally on f. ex Granary and with who, and things I should know of each map. I dont' need help with like: "Who to heal" but more of a "advanced" guide for competetive gameplay. Would be great if someone "pro" could help me through steam or whatever. :)
Starcraft, the video game is so balanced it's a national sport more or less for Korea.
There are television channels dedicated to playing the best matches of the day in HD and so on. It's such a balanced and pristine game it can get away with being a true sport. No game can ever do what Starcraft did e-sport wise, even FPSes.
People like FireBatHero are national celebrities, just for their style of walking on stage and playing in a 1v1 match of Starcraft.
#18 I'm not a professional medic but here's my advice for you.
1. LEARN HOW YOUR TEAMMATES PLAY! Become accustomed to their playstyles, i.e. if you know your demo likes to sticky jump a lot and goes for the medic a lot (not the smartest demoman ever) just try to keep him buffed. 2. LEARN THE STRATEGIES OF YOUR TEAM! That way you will ALWAYS know where your teammates are. 3. HEAL UP YOUR SOLDIERS/DEMOS BEFORE SCOUTS! Unless of course the scout(s) have less health than your soldiers/demo. If you're at full health and are busy keeping your heavy classes alive give them (the scouts) permission to take health packs (that just means you'll have to pop uber rather than holding uber trying to grab a quick health pack) 4. BUFF YOUR SCOUTS! They need it, and with a buff they're more likely to kill other scouts/escape. 5. NEVER EVER EVER TRY TO HOLD AN UBER AGAINST A SCOUT! No matter how bad they are, if they get you in the 80-100 health range you better pop it. The next shot of their's will most likely do between 60-110 damage. 6. KNOW THE DAMAGE OF ALL ATTACKS! That way you will always be ready to pop uber/be able to hold it better. 7. BE AWARE OF EVERYTHING GOING ON! Constantly be checking your back for scouts and spies (your pocket can't do everything for you no matter how good they are) 8. ALWAYS ASSUME A SNIPER IS GOOD! Even a bad sniper can get a lucky headshot so be jumping and crouching like crazy! 9. IF THE OTHER COMBO POPS UBER! That doesn't mean you have to pop it at the exact same time! You ALWAYS want to hold it back as long as possible without losing it. Be more ballsy with your holds if you have at least 120+ hp. 10. ALWAYS ASSUME EVERYONE IS GOOD! You really shouldn't try to hold uber to the point of... well one health. 10.a. Scout meatshots 8) you, pop it. 10.b. Tons of spam/focus fire, pop it. ^^you see what I'm saying now. When things are really hectic and chaotic it's a sign that you'll have to pop uber the second you are at 70-100hp. If things aren't hectic, well then hold uber for as long as you deem safe. 11. USE YOUR SOLDIERS/HEAVY CLASSES AS A MEAT SHIELDS! When you are getting attacked by a scout make sure you are ALWAYS behind your soldier/demo/who ever the hell you're healing at the time. 12. When going in for an uber push always make sure you are aware of where your team mates are, and "tag" your teammates with uber. By tag I mean you just switch uber off of your main target and give it to the teammate who is low or about to crater(fall to his death). 13. FIERCE NEEDLES! You can't go wrong with fierce needles.
What advanced medicing comes down to is knowing a lot about the game. Not only do you have to know your own teammates playstyle but you have to learn your opponents playstyle's right after the first round, if you don't you could get steam rolled. Adaptation is the key skill that separates the pros from the joes.
Sadly I still have A LOT more to write... but I'm thinking about making a thread about how to play medic. If you can even use the tips I just gave you and perfect them you could be on whatever team you want.
Man I remember when NaDa was DA BESS. That must've been awesome, being completely unbeatable for an entire year or so. Then he turned what, 25 and was "too old" to play because his reflexes slowed, blew all his money in 3 years and recently signed a 3 year 2 million dollar contract to play again. What a G.
23# Thx for taking some time to write some tips. I learned something from: 5. I almost always do that, I fail 10-20% of the time but that's 20% too much I guess. 6, that would be smart idd to check exact damage for shots, I know the rough estimate of each attack, but I guess it would make it even better. Comment on 8. I always crouch jump no matter what so that isn't a problem :P I guess 10 a bit. I am a guy who underestimates people. But I kinda meant more tips like: I went left side to middle point on granary, enemy scout comes from the side and an enemy soldier rocket jumps on to a "crate" or whatever above me and my pocket soldier. What should I do? Should I go right side? should I have more people with me on left side? And who? I really appreciate those tips which actually taught me something, and I consider myself as a seasoned medic. But would be great if someone would point out about those things I said on granary for example. thx thx thx
EDIT: What I'm trying to say is where I am supposed to go and with who on MAPS (Need most help with granary and well)
Hey #25, I'm not Reptile or would I like to be Reptile.
However, for the cheap price of $14.99, you can get a lesson from me, djfivenine. I can teach you the basics of soldiers. I can also plug you in as a soldier in a 6 v 6 team and then give you advise after you are finished playing with the team. And if you CALL NOW. I will give it to you with 3 easy payments of $3.99!
#26 it all completely depends on where your team mates are and how much health you have. If you still have full health I would tell your pocket to jump on crate and kill the other solly, then needle the scout (if it's just one scout he'll usually wuss out if you get enough needles in him)
can someone teach me tf2
