Awesome :D. I feel embarrassed, now, that I already knew these things and didn't take the time to spread the word. I hope everybody who reads this feels inspired to share something they know.
I switched to bonk after sv_allowwaitcommand was fixed and I found this very helpful
bind "MOUSE1" "+attack; firstperson"
This puts you in first person *immediately* when you drink. It's a lot harder to dodge knockback effects in third person and I never seem to see anything of value when the camera is back there anyway, so there's really no reason to go into third person at all.
I switched back after they defaulted autopistol (you're welcome :P), but sooner or later I'm going back to the soda... I find the pistol is a win more crutch.
I generally go spy when I want to break past a barrier, but after seeing those two tricks and thinking about it I'll probably try bonk out more. It looks like it could offer some interesting possibilities in areas where you're more concerned about pushing or holding than getting picks.
Thanks for sharing Jaeger. Let's hope they don't patch those. :]
I know there are a lot floating around, but someone should compile all of the fastest routes to mid for the respective classes on all of the main maps. I know most players have a solid grasp on this now anyways, but it would be epically good for new players coming into the comp scene.
Well done Jaeger. I look forward to watching that demo with the voice comm recording. I've been saying that I would love to listen in on a high level team for a long time. I think my team has a decent grasp on communication, but I am quite sure there are a few things we could learn.
#11 thanks for the tip, honestly I just blinded followed the tutorials at pldx to get it done as fast as possible, don't even have vegas just used virtualdub, audacity, and ffmpeg. I'll drop the framerate next time though.
Really awesome stuff, Jaeger. The demo/mp3 was pretty lolzy, with carnage screaming for buffs and someone missing their jumps but not saying anything :P
If you continue these tips&trick videos, I'm sure the community as a whole will respond with more bits of knowledge of its own.
very nice work there jaeger, this will certainly help out the competitive community by showing new opportunities for players to learn from the best as you might say..
lol, you found the trick with the bonk where you hold w and alternate a and d, I noticed that a long time ago when carnage did it on freight vs coL during pre-game
soldier jumps are important, can definitely save you a round one day.
i kind of learned how to rocket jump doing that left side jump to the top of C. i think it's just about the maximum height/distance combo that gets practical use, so it is a good one to practice if you're trying to optimize your rjing. if you can land that consistently then you're timing is perfect
#42 this used to be true, but after the update in March where they "fixed" rocket jumping it is actually much easier to do this and several other previously hard jumps. These jumps used to be somewhat unreliable because they did require almost perfect execution but now there is no reason to miss them IMO.
also if you're going to take fall damage from the double, land on the roof. a good option if there is an uber on the point, or stickies on the ramp landing.
hey remember that one time in pure when we were gonna try a new strategy with jaeger at demo and me at huntsman sniper w/ jarate replacing the roaming solly to try that whole PISSs on them strategy discussed in the other topic, but then ww was like bbl going to europe for 4 weeks without tellin the team, then pure died.

Looking forward to other tips coming from this initiative. Hopefully other people start sharing some info too :)

I am spreading it to the rest of my friends and other newer braziliam teams.
Well done.
Also liked the part about the transition from third to first - it never seemed like a big issue on the surface but why take chances?
Video: MPEG4 Video (H264) 1280x720 90.00fps [Video]
As great as this looks on my 120hz screen, try 30-50 next time :P
(you can set this in vegas with alt+enter, or fraps if you are using that)
;] <3 etc.
I learned alot of stuff from the match comms and your video.
what else is passing your mind? make a video of that stuff. who says jaeger has to be the only one to give out pro tips?
you just have to time your second jump perfectly
very nice work tho.
GLUE, HEAL ME!
GLUE ARE YOU GOING TO EVER BUFF ME?
GLUE. GLUE. GLUE GIMME A BUFF!
But yes, the .mp3 was very helpful. More of those would be much appreciated.
Thanks for that Jaeger !

Another great quick video Jaeger. We'd love to see more.
