Decided to bump an old post over making a new one.
The match will be on Thursday Nov. 5th at 10 EST. The format (Bo3 or 1 map) will be decided by the players. The rosters are
East (EG) destro cyzer carnage reptile sureshot casey
West dummy syckness enigma jaeg seagull ruwin
I've spoken to everyone and they have all confirmed that time except for Reptile, dummy, and Jaeg (all of whom I can't reach).
ESEA will be trying to hold an All-Star game sometime during the week of October 26th for the invite division. Notor and myself have been discussing it and are thinking this should be the general set up of it. A few top players for each class will be selected. From the selected players fans will vote on the ESEA site for two (scouts / soldiers) and one (demo / medic) that they would like to see in the game. Once voting is closed the two medics with the most votes will be team captains and choose their teams.
To try and prevent a match of 20ID vs Loaded or vs EG we will limit it to maximum two (or three?) people from each team can be voted in.
If you did try something like this, try and get a really good shoutcast going on for it. Wonder if djwheat would be interested in tf2, he did the canada v america QL allstar match. He could bring some more interest in the game with his followers. If he even likes TF2 :(
If we were to split it up into two pools, say east vs. west we would have to make sure there is enough of a pool for each class for people to be voted in. I just suggested medic captains because it would be easier to pick 5 scouts and have the top 4 voted in.
Also if you are an invite player and would not like to participate (although you should want to) you should let notor or myself know.
Not gonna lie, the opposite of this might be more entertaining. Get the 12 crappiest Steam Forum players to battle seriously and broadcast it. I'd watch that over any allstar game.
#35 Might just be lame and pointless, a player's determined "skills" are about as relevant as a players stats. Especially since competitive game-play isn't solely dm but the ability to react according to the situation, and then ability to work as a team and then dm (in a perfect situation). It really depends on your definition of skills, when skill can be classified as teamwork ability too.
Otherwise if that wasn't your idea rly. It could just be for fun and maybe just for attracting players to competitive tf2.
I like #39's idea...take out my Sticky jump challenge and put in the slam dunk contest.
And yes #40. It's about FUN. It has nothing to do with bragging rights. Winning the airshot contest does not mean you have the best airshots in the world. Winning the snipe-off does not mean you're the best sniper in TF2. It's just FUN, and it'll be fun to watch woot's 1080 dunk.

Why not just put in place a ruling that there can be a maximum of 2 players from the same team on each side?
