dj you have no idea how hard it is to get 5 other people to sign up, everyone seems to be incapable of registering for websites without careful instruction.
Please note that due to contest regulations, the Tournament is open only to residents of any state of the United States of America, the District of Columbia and any Province of Canada (other than Quebec) that are 13 years of age or older as of November 22, 2009.
Only a few Mid or higher teams like Chuckles, Expertise, Helix, koG, and exult have not readied up...the best of them being low/mid, low or unknown teams.
Registration ends in 11 days...assuming that schedules will be made soon after.
Unless the admins make a big push to ask for teams to ready up, I highly doubt they'll get 128 teams for this tourney. Not to mention the number of teams in that 72 that has already broken up or decided to do ESEA and TWL instead. (I can see a few).
I'm not going to be as harsh as #38...but Alienware admins...get on it.
I'm not clear on why some members of this community feel compelled to call everything dead or failing. It's almost as though they take pride in expressing negativity.
We're here bringing sponsorship and support for your community. We hope you join and have fun.
In the last 9 days, we've gone from 46 ready to 72 ready, and from 198 total to 224 total. There's also a healthy number of teams with 4 or 5 members currently on their roster - close to ready.
Essentially the Alienware staff has done everything that it can...from posts here, on CommFT, on Steam news, and on the Steam forums to emails sent to all CEVO members that play TF2, etc. At this point the teams that have to fill in the holes are going to come from the lower levels since (as far as I can tell) most of the recognizable names are signed up. If your team has 4-5 members on it, get ready as soon as possible so we can deal with the remaining slots.
Bump the Steam forums thread too because we can fill quite a few spots with teams of friends who normally wouldn't see these forums or CommFT: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/sho..
