Lanwar (Million Man Lan) *NEWLY ADDED* Sometime mid to late January CENTRAL/EAST: Louisville, KY $?? TF2 Tournament: Unconfirmed http://www.lanwar.com/

My suggestion would be to start a thread for any/every LAN that is presumed to have a significant TF2 turnout, so we can have a specific thread to distribute even more information and get more people to come.
Someone should get a LAN organized in like chicago (easily accessible by many), and have it start sometime in March or April, giving people a lot of time to get finances/sponsor funds to go there. Having a bigger LAN hopefully means higher priced prizes, giving players and sponsors the motive to want to pay.
I'd prefer this over a bunch of small lans where 3-4 pug teams show. Of course people could do this too, but getting a big lan organized in the future that isn't too one sided (east or west coast) would be nice.
well there's a few reasons i would discourage that:
there's only 100 seats left it's supposed to be fairly noob friendly there already is a tf2 tournament, no cash buyin and hardware prizes. i don't want to step on toes.
Who do you know #21? I ran the IU LAN War TF2 tourney last year, and my friends and I provided the server for the Source games. Someone else is doing all that stuff this year but I'll still be there.
#22 Bodknocks I know Hamstar, he plays religiously on my public TF2 server The Drunken Brawl. A few other Brawlers are going and we're on a team together. Should be fun times unless some pro team comes and wrecks it
Oh yeah I know him, he's roomates with a good friend of mine. It's always a fun LAN to go to, although the tourneys vary in quality depending on how organized they decide to get. And they usually give the good prizes out in raffles rather than the tourneys so as not to attract midwest rapetrains.
#16 Kansas isn't the middle of everything... it's the middle of no-where... #29 Canada is just USA's hat (they drink milk out of bags there too)... get over it!
just a heads up about the PDXLan, if you're signing up in hopes of winning a nice prize for the tourney I guarantee you will be disappointed. The pdxlan dudes have amazing prizes but they are all saved for the raffle and you have better chances winning something nice at that, the administration doesn't really care for hardcore gaming as far as tourneys go so it isn't run very disciplined.
still fun though if you just want to play games on lan, and like I said the raffle they have is pretty amazing some crazy 10K+ prizes they gave away last year with a good amount of winners.
There's one a bit north of Toronto that runs in July or so but their last one didn't feature TF2. I think if someone would contact them and try to put together 4-8+ teams we could make something of it.
#42 Fragapalooza. Biggest one in canada. Happens next August, sucks if you play quake you won't get to go to Quakecon cause its a week before quakecon. Always.
I have to say that driving mid to late Jan might not end very well. I don't know why they would choose when the east/mid-east gets destroyed with snow to host a LAN. Figures that it's so close to me (Ohio) yet seems like death to drive it. :P
Yea, I gathered. I don't think I'm going to win any tourneys, so it kinda works out for me. There's gotta be at least a couple mad skilled TF2ers who are gonna show up to it, and hopefully we can put on a good tourney of some sort. Slardel is an Oregonian I believe.
Oh this whole community gaming just keeps getting better and better......lol. I would be interested in being able to set up a team or people to go to these types of events.....wheeeee. Even hold a contest in the community where all expenses would be paid for to go with a team perhaps.....hmmmm *Nahanni gets her thinking cap on*. I would love to learn more about this and how things are set up ect......can someone give me some good links or tips.....would be greatly appreciated....=) Whoot whoot GAME ON!! =)

there has to be a LAN already in progress, then you contact the LAN operators and ask them if you can hold a tournament there as well.
there's only 100 seats left
