I was going to post this in the CoD forum, but that place is dead like Captain Lou Albano (Fact of the day: he was Cyndi Lauper's real life father). Many of you aren't going to buy the game. Who cares, a lot of us are. anyhoo...
So there are multiple ways to buy MW2, but each has cons. Let's review:
1- From the store. Cost: $60. Pro: Get it day of release. Con: Have to go to the store. Paying full price.
2- Online from Walmart. Cost: $60, but with $20 giftcard. Pro: Giftcard Con: Says you won't get the game until like 2 weeks after release. And if you want to pay for express shipping, there goes your $20 giftcard moneys. Note: Used to be $50 with $10 giftcard, but they changed it up.
3- Through Steam. Cost: $60 Pro's: Through steam, so it's easy. (Not sure if they are doing pre-loading, but i would assume they are) Cons: Won't be able to play until 11/12 (2 days after release). That's a big one. No discounts. No box and manual (no big deal).
So if there are other options out there, please post them here. I'm still undecided. Are any retail stores offering any preorder bonus?
And before this gets trolled: 1- MW2 is a terrible game and no one should play it. 2- ZOMG no dedicated server support. 3- WTF, 16 player max. They are making this a console port. 4- All those innocent people in the Terminal level! 5- $60 for a pc game, are they kuh-razy?! 5- Etc.

Based on your post the 'biggest deal' is that you won't get it until 2 days after release. If that's a big deal to you, then get it the day it comes out at a store. I wouldn't bother with online Walmart, but that's just me.
My best friend said he beat borderlands already. He loved the game, but thought the content was thin. And yes I'm leaning towards a store purchase, but I'm posting this incase someone knows of some superdeal that I am unaware of... then step 2: .... then step 3:we can all profit. =)
#6, they are already working on an expansion to borderlands.
QUOTE:The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned
The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is the first installment of downloadable content for Borderlands. The content will include new quests, items, and enemies, and will be made available sometime before the end of 2009.[5] The storyline takes place in an area known as Jakobs Cove. Dr. Ned had been in charge of keeping the workers of Jakobs Cove alive, but ended up transforming them into abominations. The player will assist Dr. Ned in trying to cure the victims of his work.
$60 for a pc game. $60 for the same game made 2 years ago with a cool radar attached to a submachine gun. $60 for no dedicated servers. $60 for a game that comes out every year. $60 for a pc game.

buying MW2 at walmart - $60 buying bullets with your $20 giftcard - free... kinda. buying a shotgun - $200 shooting yourself in the face because you just realized that you've spent 60 dollars each year on every call of duty game even though they're the god da mn same year after year and now you're a broke fvckhead - priceless.
#24 what do you mean "CoD4 was fun, MW1 was trash"?
Anyway unless you're planning on playing comp MW2 and need a jump on getting good at the game, why not just wait until it's inevitably 20 bucks during the massive Steam New Years sale?
