#8 it was a timing script for medic ubercharge, basically you could punch the seconds reading from the timer into your numpad when the medic spawned and it would add 40 seconds (or 30 seconds for kritz) from that time and display it in team chat; several people complained that it removed skill from the game while others took the stance that it was basically just a kitchen timer that you could interact with via your numpad.
I thought I posted in this thread... maybe it got nuked or I'm just crazy.
To answer your question #8, it was strictly a preference script that made more people aware of the fact that you could time enemy ubers. It caused a bit of controversy, as people initially thought TF2 was "ruined" by it, until people actually thought about it and realized it was just a glorified subtraction script / egg timer. In the end, it was allowed in leagues and a great deal of people learned a bit about an important aspect of the game.
I don't think anyone thought TF2 was "ruined" by it, a select few of us (see about a half dozen) had some personal problems with it, which caused a extremely odd knee-jerk reaction by Jaeger.

It's not like he was holding "tips and tricks" ransom for money or anything.

The mutual realization of over-reacting is not the same as extortion. By that reasoning he could pretty much never "suck it up" and start making content for the community again for fear of looking like he was only holding out for an unban.
On a related note, now that the script has been out in the wild for a while now, by how much would people say the game has been harmed by it? Has anybody's team been outplayed because their medic didn't time ubers with a script while the opponent did?
