But seriously, I can't catch exactly why you are that much critical about the new channel I want to start. What's the problem since the work I will put in #tf2.pug will probably benefit both channels and the whole PUG community.
All I asked to guys like you is to idle in "#tf2.pug". First it will help me to get things tested when I will launch new code. And second, new guests won't leave and quit instantly because the channel look dead. Which over long term may help us to get games running without even announcing them anywhere.
I think cinq doesn't want these pugs to slowly get worse like gather did. And the only way to do that is to make sure people try. And playing spy/sniper all the time isn't trying no matter how well you do.
He's trying to filter out the people that just want to use a pug to fuck around and play sniper for a the whole map. I'm not saying that sniper should be completely banned, I'm saying that if you want to fuck around and play sniper, play in a pub.
I think that mpuk basically has a policy that you are allowed to play a utility class if all five members of your team consent or something. If you could automate that it would be pretty nifty.

What I was going to do is build a SM plugin that check at the beginning of each rounds the amount of time you spent off class. And if you just lost a round and your off class time is above 50% or something, it gives you 30 seconds to switch class. Otherwise you will be slayed or killed.
I want to do something that allows off classing for some situations, also allow complete off class in DM and also doesn't restrict forward / backward spawning.
#20 the problem with that is, knowing the TF2 community, if someone gets slayed for staying offclass, they'll do something stupid like stay in spawn or continue to play offclass just to spite their team.
I do see one problem with the bot.... if you are a non-medic captain, why do you have to pick a medic first? This seems very stupid in the fact that it gives the other team the top 2 available fraggers right off the bat if they have a medic captain.
its just stupid when you are banned for playing sniper/heavy and are blamed for your team losing when you have 3 players with 0 points after 3 rounds of play =/
Could you configure class limits that changed based on the map, point being played, and which team you're on? You could prevent stupid off classing but still let teams make good use of utilities.
For example, Engineers would be prohibited on push maps, but if a team was defending their last point then the limit for them would be raised to one. On Gravelpit, they would only be available to the defenders.
