I figured I would post here, since people are not checking the mentor boards very often, (Honestly, don't blame you, there hasn't been to much going on)
but I sent out PM's to all the mentors to update me on their mentees. I am doing this so I know who has whom, so I can get some new mentee applications going.

So, please respond before Sunday. That way after I get back from a long thanksgiving weekend, I'll be able to deal with this pain in the as s, LOL.

using commfortress to send PMs to mentors is a terrible system. The last two mentees I had, I found out that way. when the mentors volunteered to help, we all listed multiple ways (irc, steam name) where we could be contacted. I think expecting anyone to visit a forum they never use just because they *might* have a message is a setup for failure.

kinda wondering what the -frags are for, gonna just assume it's hate for me not the mentor system, right? If its for me, no biggie, but it's the system than how would you make it better?

But, regardless, I have no problems taking suggestions and/or comments on how to improve the system. I may be opening the floodgates but it's the only way to learn.

PS- I understand the system is slow, trying to fix that.

System is confusing as ****... no one knows who they can actually ask... who is the best to ask. I've mentored three people and they all just saw my post and contacted me on steam... if you want us to use more of your system, make it useful by adding a solid communication system, otherwise just have a list of available mentors and consistent contact information... and maybe have a way the mentor can go in a change whether they are available or not.

And no offense to some people, but some shouldn't really be mentors... When you have guys like fragile willing to teach medic, why have grillz there too?

Well #8 some of the mentors that aren't mid or higher came to take the load off of some of the mentors with newer players that need more basic help than advanced shit. NAAA MEAN????

this has to be quick because I have to leave, but the reason there are other mentors is there are only about 25 total mentors, yet tons more mentees. You guys are more than welcome to say when available or not, whom your mentoring, or whatever info you feel as pertinent. On a major reasons of my email is to find out who is actively still participating.

it should be the mentees responsibility to track down the mentors, not the other way around. No, I don't want e-mail notification from commfortress about receiving messages. there is contact information available for the mentees. let them use it. I've had no issues with the system and the folks I've gotten to help have all been enjoyable and grateful, but that doesn't mean there isn't room for improvement.
