Team Fortress 2: CEVO Season 2 Info Imminent

Time to get your collective butts in gear.

(GotFrag) - With the Sennheiser Open at long last behind us, it's time to shift focus to the upcoming CEVO TF2 Season 2. With the official announcement by CEVO coming in a matter of days, rumours have begun to fly about what exactly that announcement will outline - will Season 2 be the same format as S1, with a Pro & Amateur division? If so, how will they decide what team goes where? Will there be a placement tourney? Or will they change it to CEVO-Invite and hand-pick the teams? And of course, there's always the fear that not enough teams have signed up for two complete divisions, leading to one, large mixed division with scrubs teams left at the mercy of their betters.

We may all have different opinions about what CEVO should do, but I think we can agree on one thing: that final possibility of a combined division would, to put it bluntly, suck hard. While CEVO won't say anything official until the announcement is made, I get the feeling they don't particularly want that to happen either, but one can assume the debacle that was Season 1 (I seem to remember a whole wack of teams dropping and a whole lotta forfeits happening) must also be avoided at all costs.

The current list of teams signed up (seen here) is large, but old, with the majority of teams info/rosters out of date (if those teams even still exist). The last thing CEVO wants is for their league to turn into another CAL, with Pro teams mixed in with scrubs mixed in with teams that haven't existed for months - forfeit city, in other words. Therefore, it's time for all you team captains out there to dust off your CEVO accounts, track down your players, and prep your roster for the upcoming season - show CEVO that there is in fact a large TF2 community here in North America looking to play.

cevo has done a lot to help the community out...but at the same time they have failed over and over again to do whats right( s1 debacle, placement fiasco, dumb admins). They should have made this season a pay season, and put up some real prizes. (RAM? who cares about ram.) And as far as teams go, A lot of teams, mine included are looking to fill gaps, and you cant just rush picking people up. I think cevo should delay a couple weeks, let teams settle in, and have new signups so no dead teams are on the list. If there arent enough teams for 2 leagues, what can you do. I would rather do 1 league and play a real team each week than have 6 teams in cevo p, and have 4 dead teams after week 2.
