The big show has finally arrived! ![]() Grand Finals
![]() CEVO-P Playoffs - Grand FinalsPandemic v eMazing Gaming
In what was the closest match in TF2 history, the Pro-Am Finals featured both of these teams at the top of their game with equally stacked rosters. Things have... changed a little since then, and I don't just mean carnage/glue/dummy-related changes. Both of these teams are focused on these finals, but only about as much as anyone can be focused on an eSport in the middle of the holiday season. Added to that the often-repeated fact that the prize is kinda lame, and you're left with a bit of a toss up for these finals. The real deciding factor for me is how the roster changes affect each team - while dummy has worked out to be a solid replacement for hubris/alexwut, there really aren't too many scouts out there that can step in for carnage without missing a beat. With two teams basically relying on talent and whatever muscle memories can be dug up out of the mental-closet, any negative factor such as the loss of a player like that can amplify itself hugely in those critical moments of the match, be it a B-push on cp_gravelpit or the mid-battles on cp_badlands/granary. Simply put, I just don't think eMg's got what it takes in their current form to really challenge Pandemic - that's not to say they couldn't get there through weeks of scrimming and practicing, but we all know that most of the top teams have been lax in such areas lately, and have been relying on raw talent to see them through. In the end, Pandemic has all the advantages - steady roster with top players in each field - and should take this one in two straight maps.
