The Qualifiers heat up! Week 3 features Freight, a map introduced last season to add some flavor to the usual granary/gravelpit/badlands. Hopefully we’ll see a lot of train action and some unusual line-ups to keep it exciting. The sign-ups are officially done for the Season 4 Qualifiers. TWL now has 68 full teams, with only 2 teams with forfeits so far. If you missed the sign-up for the qualifiers, the Season 4 sign-ups will be starting soon, so keep your head up. Lots of teams are looking to keep their undefeated streak going, while others are working on getting their season turned around and put a big W on the board. Will they accomplish their goals? Read on and see! Season 4 Qualifiers: Week 3 Match of the Week – Truwar E-SPORTS vs. the terribles: Both of the MOTWs so far have been exhilarating. Both these teams are going to have to bring their A game to reach the intensity that the other four teams brought. Both teams are 2-0 and a win for either one here will help to cement their bid as a top team in the league. I actually see this being a pretty good game. Freight allows for some unorthodox strategies and I see the terribles taking advantage of that more so than Truwar. I think in the end though, Truwar will prevail in this match-up, but it won’t be easy. You can watch this match live at: www.e-rev.tv on Tuesday, May 19th at 10:30 PM EST. Winner: Truwar E-SPORTS ionic vs. Treason: I hear Treason won last week’s game 5v6, but that’s just a rumor so I’ll try not to let that bias my predictions. Regardless of that feat, I think Treason just has too much talent for ionic. I expect them to out-DM ionic the majority of the time and use that to their advantage. Look for DragonFlame to get confused about the difference between Switzerland and Sweden and blow the game for his team. Winner: Treason Kryptic Gaming vs. The YO FAMILY: Kryptic won lat week, which is a good sign, especially since I had them winning. Unfortunately, they won’t be winning this week. Although there was some question as to whether Yofa were active (having forfeited their first game in the CEVO OCZ tournament), they won soundly last week and have shown that they are ready to contest the top spot. Kryptic will continue to improve this season, but I see them taking their first hit here. Winner: The YO FAMILY Rage and Terror vs. The un-Named: Not a lot to say here, TuN had a solid win last week over HF, but I doubt they have the talent or organization to take on RnT. Winner: Rage and Terror ATF Boomstix vs. The Uber Melons: I promised the ATF guys that I would have a prediction written up for them this week since I hadn’t mentioned them in the first 2 weeks. This was before the schedule was made, whoops. I think we all know who is going to win this one. Winner: The Swiss Team Fortress 2 Fort Squigglies vs. Ploop: This will be a good test for Ploop to see whether they have what it takes to make it to Division 1. They have 2 solid 6-0 wins to start the season, but haven’t really been challenged. If they can overcome the Squigs, then they would prove they are on the right road to success. On the other hand, 3-0 for the Squigs could go a long way in helping them, so I expect them to bring their best. Winner: Team Fortress 2 Fort Snow Bear University vs. Aged in Oak Casks: SBU is the reason I have 2 incorrect predictions. The first week I had them losing, they won, the second week I had them winning, they lost. So what am I to do? Since they seem to go against me all the time, I’m going to predict them to win again. Look for AoC to take advantage of tyir’s lack of DMing skills and steal a few points. Winner: Snow Bear University eXpertise vs. wdf: This is probably going to be the nail in the coffin for wdf in terms of making any sort of run at the top Division and will create a tough hole to get out of if they want to make Division II. eXpertise’s one loss was due to a forfeit in the first week. The second week they blew through SBU 6-1. I don’t see them dropping this one. Winner: eXpertise Here are some Quick Picks for your pleasure: p.s. Litany sucks over reverb Clan uBer over WeAlways Fail FYC e-Sports over hac attack ZackKurs over Tean Killer Onion Hope you liked the predictions, I’ll be around all week! And if I keep missing out on your team, let me know and I’ll get you in next week. Note: Not predicting you one week is not enough to come yelling at me. - Joose |
