ehFk: What are your opinions on ESEA Season 3? How did it play out for 20 ID? Were you impressed or disappointed?

[20ID] alexwut: At the beginning of season 3 I had high expectations. Although I think ESEA did a fantastic job dealing with TF2 constantly changing, obvious problems occurred. The most notable of these problems were teams dropping early in the season. FUYANKS was obviously not going to work out in the long run, and I have to question why they were allowed in. In a league as small as ESEA-I, every team has a huge impact no matter their skill level, and the forfeit wins/losses they produced (of each team that dropped) made a significant dent early on in the season.
I thought 20ID performed very well considering we were a new roster with a couple players coming back from long periods of time without playing. The reason as to why I think we performed as well as we did can be attributed to putting in the time necessary for a new team. Each of us had the motivation to do well this season, and had a great time throughout the entire process.

ehFk: How do you feel your team matches up against EG on cp_badlands? Care to make any predictions?

[20ID] alexwut: Playing EG on badlands is going to be a very tough match. Needless to say they are a very talented team, and showed their TF2 experience when they easily countered each of our heavy/engy/pryo/spy granary strats.

ehFk: What do you think about the current state of competitive TF2?

[20ID] alexwut: In my opinion the competitive TF2 community needs to draw in more casual players if it wants to be reselected in any prominent league. I stopped playing TF2 for a few months, and when I came back to play this summer and noticed that it was the same players in the invite divisions. It is obvious that the higher skilled players join/make different teams with the same pool of players each season, and I think reason as to why this is can be pinpointed to the lack of new casual players entering the scene. Current players need to not only welcome new players, but help them out when they are willing to give competitive TF2 a try.
