Daniel from KoG predicts week 4 of TWL-Invite on cp_badlands.

(GotFrag) - This week, we arrive on Badlands, a staple of competitive play since its addition to the game in early 2008. The map heavily favors demomen and scouts, and teams will likely be looking to those classes to make the big plays. An especially talented soldier may have some impressive moments, but for the most part, these games are going to revolve around the flanks -- whichever scout pair can clean up more effectively will likely win the match for their squad.

Knights of Goku vs. Businessmen

No prediction from me, but Dosr from Dejavu has this to say:

I don’t really care what match Daniel ends up saying will be the match of the week - KoG and businessmen will be the MOTW… depending on who businessmen bring out to play. If the men in suits start with their 4 CEVO-P players, KoG could be in trouble. However, Badlands relies pretty heavily on scouts, and that could be the determining factor. KoG’s scouts play together, and although BM has cyzer, I don’t think he’ll be enough to pull them through.
Heavy classes: Businessmen > KoG (if dummy and phelon play)
Scouts: KoG > Businessmen

5-4 KoG

Lightning Bolt vs. Strickland Propane

Normally I would say that this would be my MOTW, but I get the feeling Lightning Bolt hasn’t really on the top of their game lately. I know that they haven’t scrimmed in ages, and I know that jk will be MIA all of next week, and I know that notor is only half-available – all of these factors leave the Canadian allstars at a pretty big disadvantage. It’s Badlands, so Stamjallyfish and Lopert should have some impressive showings, and I doubt it’ll be a roll -- but I don’t expect LB to come out in full force, and Strickland is going to exploit that for a win.

6-3 Strickland Propane

pointandclick vs. Hostile Faction

My MOTW. Both teams feature impressive raw talent, but I think that pac has more cohesive teamwork – HF tends to try to out-deathmatch everybody, and while that may work against a less-experienced team, they’ll have a difficult time trying to go rambo on an organized pac. The matchup has also been tipped in pac’s favor with their recent pickup of Eckm as soldier (to replace an inactive Diddy). It’ll be close, but pac should have this one.

6-4 pointandclick

Stacker’s Union vs. Dejavu

Dejavu is simply the stronger team here: the Stackers are outclassed at every position. Romeo “g0atrly” Love and Freight are going to go to town on poor Jack. Tyranny might be able to snipe his way to a round or two for SU (provided he doesn’t get shut down by Oshnosh in return), but DJV should take this one without too much trouble.

6-1 Dejavu

Team Caboose vs. Expertise

Expertise has picked up Shakr to replace Zeilo, and he’s a decent demoman – but decent isn’t going to cut it against Caboose. The skill discrepancy between these two teams is too large for TC to lose here.

6-0 Team Caboose
