Daniel from KoG predicts week 5 of TWL-Invite on cp_yukon. Yukon became an official map with the latest update, and I think with the final changes it’s a pretty solid competitive battleground – it certainly doesn’t suffer as much from the same aggravating problems that many people complained about in older versions. With cover added to the middle point and access to the bridge made easier, along with a slight reworking of the second and last points, it’s become a lot more fun to play. Anyways, let’s get down to the predictions: Businessmen vs. Frag`Dominant (Lightning Bolt) Provided FragD has their starters around and they’ve gotten some time in to practice, they’ll probably put up the best fight that the Businessmen will get all season. I don’t think that even FragD at their best can take on virtually all of EG’s main lineup, though, and Gremaud and ehFK do their share of the work in the absence of Yaug and Casey. If FragD can’t get their availability issues resolved, this will be really quick. 6-2 Businessmen Knights of Goku vs. Strickland Propane by waar Well the Knights of Goku have had a smackin great start to this series of seasons so far, blasting through Hostile Faction twice (6-0 in TWL, 5-1 in CEVO) and Frag Dominant (6-0), but crash and burned last game with their 0-6 loss versus EG. I believe they're going to come out of this loss strong and will venture forth into the match versus Strickland Propane with a rude atti-tude (hehheh). Strickland Propane has been struggling this season so far, coming out apparently weaker than they were just a month ago in ESEA. They lost to Hostile Faction by 3 points while Knights of Goku destroyed them twice, and their two wins in TWL thus far have been extremely close 2-1 victories. What's the deal Grillz?? What happened? haha no just kidding you don't have to respond. woot Strickland beat Stackers Union 5-0 in CEVO so clearly they still got some punch in 'em, I'm hoping they can put up a good fight because I was personally rooting for Strickland heavily last season. Moving on to class make-ups I'd say both teams are about even as far as soldiers go. Warpy's going to have to control his aggressiveness here, and this being Yukon it probably won't be too hard. This map definitely fits wo0t's playstyle of defensive zone control over aggressive jumping - I'm going to have to give the demoman advantage here to Strickland. As for scouts, both teams' pairs have been playing together for quite some time now. They're both going to have good chemistry, but the deathmatch advantage goes to the Knights - daniel and LD50 are pretty sick. Though if both teams decide to snipe, as teams so often do on Yukon mid, then perhaps breather will step up over daniel. 6-2 Knights of Goku pointandclick vs. Team Caboose MOTW. Pac had a pretty sloppy game last week against Hostile Faction, a team I thought that they could beat. This could have possibly been due to waar’s absence, as he is one of the more experienced players on the team and the leader, but I won’t make excuses for them. Their second scout, slardel, is on vacation, and he’ll be temporarily replaced with rline, who is more than capable of picking up the slack. I think pac is going to bounce back this week with renewed vigor, and it’s going to be tough for Caboose to overcome their coordinated pushes and defenses. This game will come down to which demoman has more of an impact on the game – and Chupa is the kind of guy that gets it done when it matters. I’ll say pac takes it this week, but a few slip-ups on their part and it could easily go the other way. 6-4 pointandclick Dejavu vs. eXpertise This’ll be a quick one. Dosr & crew shouldn’t have much trouble with eX. Someone remind me again why Xensity wasn’t allowed into this division instead of a team that probably won’t get a single win? 6-1 Dejavu Hostile Faction vs. Stackers Union HF really stepped up last week against pointandclick, as their new lineup seemed to pay off, and they’ve made another significant change to their roster – Paladin, former pocket soldier for Complexity, has joined, and with his entrance, Patrick shifts to scout with Cringe and Phaser takes the second soldier role. This is a pretty huge improvement in my opinion, and they’re probably going to demolish a weaker team like the Stackers in their first match. 6-0 Hostile Faction Good luck everyone! |
