The new season is scheduled to begin on October 26th, just two weeks after the end of Season 4 Playoffs. We have reworked our Promotion/Demotion system and are introducing a new "Qualifier" system for teams that are new to TWL (you can read more in the above link). The obective is to better place new teams into the division they belong in. Season 4 was extremely successful, but there were still more teams "out of place" than we would like.

Also upcoming for Season 5 is the consolidation of Division 1. Currently there are Divisions 1a and 1b (the "invite" division). We will be combining those two, taking the top teams, adding a few new top-level teams, and dropping the rest to Division 2. That combined with the new Promotion and Qualifier systems should result in Division 2 being significantly deeper than last season and a better experience for teams all around. Expect to see 10-12 teams in Division 1 as well as each subdivision below.

Map Rotation

The map rotation was adjusted in Season 4 to better reflect what the TF2 community wants, and we will continue that for Season 5. There have been a couple new custom maps introduced recently that will be given attention, so you can expect to see another map vote in the near future. TWL will also be trying harder to promote and test these new maps. Expect to see Granary, Gravelpit, Badlands, and Yukon, and then four more strong custom maps.

Match Times

Default match time: Mondays at 9:30 pm est
Sign ups end: Wednesday, October 21st
Season begins: Monday, October 26th

Although the season begins on October 26th, Promotion matches and Qualifier matches for the new season will be happening all throughout Season 4 playoffs.
