After 2+ years, Everett "rk" Wells is stepping down as head writer for GotFrag TF2. After 2+ years of melees, preds, play-by-plays and, most of all, +frags, the time has come for me to step down from my post here at GotFrag TF2 and begin a new journey. This site has been a part of my life for quite some time, long before we'd even heard of the Orange Box, but it was here in this section that I truly found a home, writing for a game that I love and following a scene that I thoroughly enjoy. It was here that I spread my wings for the first time, here that I was allowed to rise from a lowly editor/coverage monkey to full fledged Department Head and help build a community that continues to grow with each passing day. This community is truly something special, a world that isn't mired in its own adolescence yet is quick to puncture the egos of those who rise above themselves. It is a community that holds you accountable, that rewards skill and punishes attitude, and at its core wants nothing more but to exist on its own terms and grow at its own pace. Most of all, it is a community that continues to inspire, to evolve, and to demand more than I feel can truly be fulfilled by the circumstances of which it currently resides. Though I now prepare myself to move on from this place, I can't help but think of the people here at GotFrag that helped me along the way - a list of names I could never fully repay for the opportunities I've received and never fully thank for the help they gave freely. While I won't clutter things here with a list of each person, I'd like to take a second to thank karpovjESUITSirScootsSoLeShrewscassOCOLEYSinglecoil :) Now, while I am stepping down as full-time writer here at GotFrag TF2, I could never truly leave this place behind and will remain on as a volunteer to offer whatever aid I can to those who come after (more info below). But for now and the foreseeable future, this will be my final published post here at GotFrag, as I move on to my new home writing for the TF2 section of ESEAnews.com. I hope to see some of you at my new home, and wish the very best to you all. Cheers, Everett "rk" Wells ![]() Obviously, rk's departure leaves a large hole to fill here at GotFrag TF2, and though we wish him the very best in his future endeavors, GotFrag is still committed to bringing you the very best coverage there is to offer in the world of eSports. For those interested in joining the team and taking advantage of this rare opportunity, there are a couple routes you can take. Direct applications can be submitted here, or you may contact rk directly at everettwells@gmail.com, as he has offered to help fill the role he is leaving behind. Our thanks go out to Everett for all his hard work, and we wish him the very best in his new gig. |
