Warcraft 3: hoorai adds WC3 division

By: Jason Loadholt - Published July 27, 2006 at 4:12 PM EDT - Writer Archive
United 5's WarCraft III team has parted ways with the organization to join up with the international organization, hoorai.
Just prior to the start of WC3L Season X, the international organization hoorai announced the addition of United 5's WarCraft III division. The team made the decision to join hoorai based upon a lack of competitive events in North America, as well as an opportunity for greater success within the WarCraft III community.

The team encountered moderate success under the United 5 flag, and looks to improve upon that success by increasing their presence within the community. Since hoorai's inception, their other divisions have given stellar performances, as the WarCraft III division looks to do the same. The team opened up WC3L Season X with a loss to NiP, but still has a long road ahead of them.

Statements were posted on hoorai's web site by hoorai's CEO, Darius "Zwerk" Penner, and the Head of WarCraft III, Christopher "rukie" Pawlowski.

Statement from Darius "Zwerk" Penner, CEO of hoorai:

After the presentation of our Counter-Strike, Quake 4 and FIFA 06 sections I'm proud to announce that hoorai will feature even more talented esports athletes. With the addition of United 5.WC3 we really got a highly talented team that will enable us to compete with the best teams in the world on all segments of the electronic sports scene. After winning the KODE5 Spanish Regional Finals and the addition of this team it looks like hoorai is on a wave of great news, I'm sure it won't stop here.

Statement from Christopher "rukie" Pawlowski, Head of WarCraft III for hoorai:

We were in search of a Warcraft III Team and the old United 5 team looked like the perfect solution. They are a highly-skilled team that is totally based on friendship and that is something you can't find that easily out there. The team is a perfect mix out of young and promising players who had their breakthrough not too long ago like NilknarfLP or PaTo who is in the buisiness a bit longer but still very young and also experienced guys like Sabre. hoorai is looking forward to have a nice time with these great guys and celebrate a lot of good results.

hoorai's WarCraft III team is comprised of:

Germany Christopher "rukie" Pawlowski (Head of WarCraft III)
France Julien "wanzerg" Dauchy (Team Manager)
United States Cheyne "Newbiee" Seleski (Team Captain)
United States Franklin "NilknarfLP" Pearsall
United States Phi "Qazzi" Tran
United States Jonathan "Hunter" Newsham
United States Alex "Sabre" Boot
United States Dan "ViVi" Reger
Brazil Bernardo "PaTo" Rodrigues
Brazil Carlos "Levin" Cruz
