Warcraft 3: Grubby defeats Lucifer in Warcraft World War

By: Mark Cheben - Published November 01, 2006 at 3:16 PM EST - Writer Archive
The Warcraft World War tournament kicked off with Manuel "4K^Grubby" Schenkhuizen taking on Jae Wook "MYM]Lucifer" Noh.
Schenkhuizen and Noh faced off to determine the champion at the start of this televised Warcraft Three event. The WC3 committee ranked and selected twenty four of the world's best Warcraft Three players to participate in W3, with the option to include more later.

The tournament has a King of the Hill flavor as the WC3 committee selects two players ranked 16-24 to play for round one, the winner of round one will then play a selected player from 6-15 for round two, the winner of round two plays a selected player from 1-5 in round three, and the winner of round three will take on the current champion all in a month's span. Each match is a best of five and is played on the following maps: TerenasStand, GnollWood, TwistedMeadow, TurtleRock, and Echo Isles.

Below is the list of twenty four WC3 players:
