Part Two of the WC3L Previews featuring last season's champions. They almost never made it out of the preliminaries, with more losses than wins to their name. They managed to pull back and up with their incredible players, and just enough for that coveted slot for the finals. ![]()
Last season’s winners certainly did not blaze through this season like champions. The team struggled all throughout, almost losing the chance to make it to the playoffs. The reason was quite clear to all concerned; they were lacking the strength of a third player, more notably, the surprising decline of their star player, Moon. Compared to last year’s season where they won 10 of 11 wars, MYM lost more than it won with a team standing of 5:6. Everyone considers Moon a sure point, but season 11 just showed him at his worst. Out of 8 matches played, he only won a meager two. Moon’s decline clearly affected MYM’s performance, as this is certainly not what the team expects from this renowned player. After a slew of losses, they decided to bench him at the last few matches in favor of Storm and EVE. Stepping up to the plate for MYM are their two Undeads, Lucifer and Susiria. Both of them kept MYM standing strong to keep them ranked on the 5th spot, eventually winning against SK Gaming during the Playoffs for the spot on the finals. Susiria performed incredibly well, ranking 2nd over all players, and Lucifer ranking fifth. But using this current season as a benchmark for their performance won’t be too accurate, considering how Moon quickly regained composure in recent months after his decline. Moon just took down two of the world’s best players in separate offline events, putting him at the top of his game. With this being said, MYM can enter the finals with the confidence and swagger of a true champ. Meet Your Makers Starting Maps It's pretty evident to see who's leading the MYM pack. Both Undeads Lucifer and Susiria play heavily on Secret Valley and Twisted Meadows respectively. Lucifer starts on Secret Valley for five matches, opting for Echo Isles and Terenas Stand when SV is not available. Is Lucifer hunting down Night Elves? We'd never know, since he only managed to take on one Elf during his SV run. Susiria on the other hand, seem to be hunting for fellow Undeads on his stint on Twisted Meadows. On the five times he played on the map--he managed to fish out four of the opponents' Undeads, and win every single match. Storm, as their only Human player this season, played Lost Temple 3 of the 5 times that its used as a starting map; followed by Echo Isles as a close second. It seems like Human players prefer to have favorable maps and play their strengths on the field, rather than analyzing who they might get to meet in the forefront.

You mean like you know his personality under the 12 hours a day routine he has when he plays video games ?
Okay wrap-up, it'd have been nice if you included replays in this review so we can compare their styles and better know what you mean.... still..not that bad
moon has been dominating on lan in the past 2 months, he won against almost every top player
grubby (superfight 2-0), zacard (www 3-0), Sky (iest 3-1), ToD (www 3-2), Insomnia (iest 2-0), FoV (www 3-1) and Lucifer (www 2-1).
good writeup, mym never struggles on lan and should win the wc3l again
Storm's last name: Kim

Moon draws Creo-- The way Moon is playing, I don't expect him to lose, but if he does, it's most likely going to be in a mirror match, which is still his Achilles heel. Creo, on a good day and a game mirror player, may be able to pull off the upset. Worse, if Moon were to draw Creo, that means that Grubby will be free to terrorize either Luficer or Susiria. Of the two, Susiria stands a better chance, I think. He won the pivotal game against Grubby in the NGL Finals, while Lucifer has lost almost all his games against The Flying Dutchman. As much as possible, MYM would like to have Moon ready and waiting on any map Grubby pitches tent.
Worse case scenario for 4K:
Grubby draws Moon-- Moon is probably the only one in MYM's lineup that can neutralize Grubby. Orc is perhaps Storm's best racial matchup, but I don't see him taking Grubby out, not the way he's been playing lately and not an Orc the caliber of Grubby. Plus, Moon has the decided pyschological edge against 4K's Orcish Chieftain, having beaten him 3-1 in their Super Fight showdown. Furthermore, with Grubby in Moon's crosshairs, that means Lucifer and Susiria are Orc-free, and I don't see FuRy or Zeus[19] taking them out considering both Koreans are extremely good anti- NE and UD combatants. Even ToD is a longshot to beat the UD duo, with ToD recently losing to Lucifer at the Replays.net sponsored All-Star tourney.
