There are two predominant 2v2 teams for mousesports. HasuObs and Spell has long played the 2v2 matches for mousesports with adequate success. In the current season, the Human and Undead team managed to win four out of five matches--even a solid 2:0 victory against Lucifer and Susiria, powerful solo players with good experience playing 2v2. They also managed to win against Zacard and Sweet, but this probably the first and last time the former SK players will ever play a team game. Unfortunately for the team, Spell has just recently announced his retirement--that can be the main reason why mouz is trying a new team in Happy and SaSe. This new team managed to win four out of six matches, winning against teams such as veteran 2v2 players ReMinD and SoJu. Their two losses come from none other than the 4K team Grubby and Zeus[19] and Clan GO's FoCuS and Shy. While Spell and HasuObs might have better showing in the 2v2 games, we have to give SaSe and Happy a little more credit. Spell and HasuObs have ton of exprience playing team games, yet it seems Happy and SaSe have potential. They are to face World Elite in the first finals round, and since Happy and SaSe were already able to take down WE's 2v2 team--this might be another sure point for them in the finals.
Mousesports Afterthoughts There's no shame in saying that mousesports is considered the least likely to win the WC3L championship amongst the other finalists. Their roster does not carry big names recognized all over the world. There is no Moon, Lucifer, Grubby, ToD or Sky on their roster--but still, they managed to reach the top four of the WC3L. This is a team forged by pure talent and determination by its young players--a relatively new roster that performed quite well despite the lack of large, international exposure. Mousesports' leading man, SaSe, is the sole exception. He slowly gained a lot of international attention after qualifying and getting invited to tournaments around the world; and it doesn't hurt that he decided to live in China to improve his game. Giacomo might not be as experienced as his teammate, but he's been a mainstay in the European scene. With his recent exposure to the WC3L and his satisfactory results, he can probably win a match or two for his team during the offline finals. Mousesports did lose one player though--former mainstay Spell decided to retire just before the season finals, leaving mouz without a solid Human player. This might hurt their team filled with mostly Undeads and Night Elves, which might cost them some racial or map-dependent matchups. Additionally, their young Undead player, Happy, is said to be unable to attend the finals as well. So who's going to be mousesports' fourth player to join SaSe, Giacomo and TitaN? PhilboT is a long-time member of mouz, but he hasn't been active recently to make him worth the trip. BasH might be active in the German leagues--but he only has one match on the WC3L under his name. While no news or confimation has been announced by the team--this might be a chance to bring in their Asian players Fly100% and Sai to join them in the finals. Despite having no games played in the WC3L, these two have tons of experience in the local Chinese scene. These two could just be the extra help that mousesports needs to propel to the top of their game. |
