A few weeks ago, ESL had announced the creation of a new league. Considered the "younger brother" of the WC3L, the Warcraft III International Premiership was created, fusing with the Cold League. Yesterday, the ESL has announced which teams which will participate for the qualifications, as well as the rules for this tournament.
There are three ways to be qualified in the WCIP. First, a team can obtain a slot in the first division if it finishes at the Top 4 during the first single bracket. Then, teams which are placed 5th to 8th take seat at the second division. Finally, the rest of the teams will contest for the last spots in division two at a third single bracket. The top 8 will be qualified. The qualifications will take a significant amount of time, despite the special format, which is only best of one.
Here are some of the teams in the WCIP:
German teams evo, AoD, n!faculty and sCa.de are the four big German teams present in this league. They should carry out a good path even if n! might encounter some difficulties, based on their past results (elimination on the second round of NGL Two's qualification).

Also, there is a little innovation in this league. A female team (
n!female) takes part for the first time in an international league.
We hope ESL will be successful in its bet to make a second division of the WC3L. We can look forward to the emergence of new talents and teams.
