Warcraft 3: NGL-One Finals Melee

By: Rob Maher - Published March 29, 2007 at 2:37 PM EST - Writer Archive
The NGL ONE Finals begin in Berlin, Germany at the CineStar Original cinema.
After long five months of intense online matches, four teams have managed to qualify for the offline finals of the NGL's second season.

Fnatic made an extremely impressive run early on in the season defeating both 4K and WE, two of their three would-be final opponents. However, they seemed to fall off of their high horse later on in the season, beginning a downward spiral that will most likely continue to the finals. Not only will fnatic have to play without their Russian stars XyLigan and Abver, but Satiini has also not been able to make it to the offline finals, for reasons unknown at this point. This loss puts their roster at a crippled three players, one of which has been inactive in recent months.

The rest of the teams are no stranger to offline finals, as all three of them were at the WC3L Finals in January of this year. This is a much different format however, where more strategy comes into play when the teams decide who to play against an already known opponent. With so many great players at this event, it is surely one not to miss!

Final Standings:

1st Place: South Korea World Elite - $10,000
2nd Place: South Korea Meet Your Makers - $4,000
3rd Place: (International) Four Kings - $2,000
4th Place: (International) Fnatic

The NGL Grand Finals for Warcraft features two of the best Korean teams battling for the championship. The team teams met earlier in the Upper Bracket Finals, where Spirit_Moon of MeetYourMakers swept the entirety of World Elite, knocking the team down to the Lower Bracket.

World Elite comes into this Grand Finals with a narrow victory against Four Kings in the Consolation Finals. Coming from the Lower Bracket, World Elite must win TWO matches in the Grand Finals to MeetYourMakers's one to take the victory and be declared the NGL-One Season 2 Warcraft Champions.
