The Gaming League adopts the current Warcraft Premier League into its upcoming TGL Warcraft III League Season 2 Competition, as well as the addition of the Premier Solo Cup.
As many people are aware, the Warcraft Premier League (WPL) was a league which was founded in November of 2004 and had a long lived life, however the league recently fell on hard times when they released a new homepage.

During the last week the decision has been made by the The Gaming League (TGL) Staff to join forces with the WPL and with this, help bring you, the community the best of both worlds and some great joint projects.

Firstly, you may be thinking. 'What does this change for me and how will we all profit from this merge?' Firstly we will be able to work on the projects set out more effectively and show an even more and respected admin team. We will also have some changes to the W3L as well as being able to draft in the Solo league which has been started over at the WPL page.

Alright now for some concrete changes, have your wits about you because this sounds complicated, the W3L will be renamed to WPL and all the current W3L teams will be invited back for the second season except those who have to requalify. All of the current WPL teams will also be invited to the league with a further 2 slots given to the winners of the current WPL season qualifiers. After all of this a separate TGL qualifier will be held where further teams have the chance of qualifying for the league.

Furthermore, the solo league will be installed on the TGL page but under a new name, Premier Solo League. Playweek 1 will continue to run at the WPL page, however, Playweek 2 will be on the TGL page so all competitors must register an account on the TGL page.

The TGL Solo Cup will also be starting again and this time, there will be an additional prize to the winner. If they are a current member of the Premier Solo League then they will win 2 points to add onto their total for the season. If they are not a member then they will get an automatic qualification to the next season. Quantities of slots and prizes will depend on the number of participants.

As this merge has been made to benefit the community, we at the TGL and WPL hope that we can continue to bring you interesting, professional and exciting events in the future and the possibility of branching into new areas, like dota but don't tempt fate!
