Warcraft 3: Stars War IV Korean Qualifier Coverage

By: Bryan Do - Published April 14, 2007 at 6:39 PM EDT - Writer Archive
The top eight players go head-to-head for a chance to represent Team Korea in Stars War IV.
The Stars War IV tournament has a unique format compared its predecessors. Still separated by their countries and continents of Europe, China, and Korea, teams will now have eight players each rather than the traditional five it had in previous seasons. Through an online voting poll, four players have already been selected for each of the teams. The Stars War IV invited twenty players to duel it out in an online qualification tournament with the top four players completing the full lineup for their respective teams.

The Korean Qualifier for the Stars War IV has completed its group stages and the top eight players have advanced through to the tournament's double-elimination playoffs to compete for the four coveted spots of Team Korea. The following players include:

South Korea June "WE.IGE.Lyn" Park
South Korea Seong Deok "WE.IGE.SoJu" Lee
South Korea Chul Woo "NoA.Shy" Park
South Korea Seo Woo "WE.IGE.ReiGn" Kang
South Korea Sueng Hyun "NoA.Space" Park
South Korea Tae Min "BeT.Zacard" Hwang
South Korea Hyo Sub "MYM]FoCuS" Eom
South Korea Hyung Ju "Check[Pooh]" Lee

UPDATE: Hwang has announced his retirement from Warcraft III and will enlist in the Korean Army. He will be replaced by Jung Ko "MYM]Susiria" Oh in the playoffs. - http://www.gotfrag.com/war/story/37346/

UPDATE: The top four players have been determined by advancing through to each of the Bracket Finals. Unfortunately the tournament will not exceed past the Bracket Finals as it will not be needed to determine the spots. Team Korea sits strong with a team full of Night Elves and Undead powerhouses:
