By: Bryan Do - Published April 30, 2007 at 10:22 AM EDT - Writer Archive
WC3L partners with ProGamer League to hold a Chinese qualification tournament.
The Warcraft 3 Champions League, better known as the WC3L, has decided to expand its borders to the vastly growing scene in China. Taking advantage of the country's recent developments, the WC3L will be teaming up with the ProGamer League to hold a all-Chinese tournament. Sixteen teams will be invited to take part and compete, and the top two teams will earn their spot in the upcoming WC3L Season XII Qualification Tournament.

The WC3L is accepting applications up until May 5th. At that time, they will announce the sixteen teams that will enter the league's first China Qualifier. The tournament will take place the week of Monday, May 7th and on Sunday, May 13th, the two best teams will gain a spot in the WC3L Qualifiers.

Teams interested can send an application to ericfang@mypgl.com with the following information:

* Clan name & ESL team ID
* A short clan history
* A list of your players and their ESL ID
* Team manager's contact information (i.e. MSN, QQ, etc.)
* Your internet provider

Hope WE doesn't quit regular WC3L for this.

Ok, perhaps I'll have to learn to read before posting, lol.

#1 WE is automatically qualified for the WC3L Season XII. They won't and don't have to compete in this since this is a competition where the best two make it into the actual qualifiers rather than having to be put in consideration with the hundreds of teams that apply.

China has two main internet providers. One is bad for international competition and practically impossible to host for.
