4K's Creolophus took down SK's newest recruit ReMinD two maps to three in the Grand Finals of Battlenet Season 5. ![]() Both players begin to tech, Creo being a bit slower due to starting out with hunts. Creo also put up an expansion on his gold mine island, with the intention of setting it up later. When ReMinD hit tier two, and laid out his dual Ancient of Lores, Creo was right there to destroy them. At the same time though, ReMinD had found Creo's expansion, and began to attack it. Fortunately for Creo, he had enough time to teleport back to it and scare away ReMinD. Creo continues to set up his expansion, while pumping out dryads from two lores. ReMinD picks up a Naga as his second hero, making this game eerily similar to Creo's first against Moon, which he lost. ReMinD tries to keep up the pressure on the expo, while building one of his own. Creo is able to push him back however, and eventually take down the constructing expansion. He continues to push the advantage, killing most of ReMinD's army with great focus fire. Upon retreating back to his moonwells, the Demon Hunter gets caught up by the slow poison of the dryads. He falls and Creo takes game one. With a 1-0 lead, Creo was sitting pretty to win the tournament. Terenas Stand would be the next map. ReMinD started off with his trusty Demon Hunter and archers. Creo starts off with a Tavern build, and elects the Dark Ranger to accompany his archers. He begins to creep around the map, getting to the Goblin Merchant before the Demon Hunter finds him. ReMinD isn't able to deal any fatal blows though, and is forced to fall back. At tier two both players pick up a Naga, and while Creo goes dual lores for dryads, ReMinD only builds a single Ancient of Wind. ReMinD tries to push once again, with mass archers and his two heroes. He takes out Creo's Naga, and after both players sustain heavy casualties, ReMinD is forced to teleport out. With an army of only archers against Creo's dryads, ReMinD attacks once more. And once again, Creo pushes him back to continue creeping. In a last ditch effort, ReMinD constructs four AoW's outside of Creo's base. Creo doesn't see it in time, and the final battle takes place. Creo has trained two mountain giants, and begins to make quick work of ReMinD's archer army. However, he seemed so content with taking down the archers, he seemed to forget that there were AoW's whacking at his army the whole time. Both players gold mines run out, and it comes down to the heroes. The Demon Hunter is just too strong at this point, and with the help of his evasion skill, is able to take out both of Creo's heroes -- winning the game. On Secret Valley, ReMinD decides to try his luck with the Priestess, accompanied by hunts from two Ancient of Wars. Creo has gone with the Demon Hunter, and with a quick harass is able to take out one of ReMinD's constructing AoWs. Because he single AoW archer teched, Creo reaches tier two quickly. He picks up a Beast Master, and throws down two lores in his base for dryads. ReMinD knows he is behind in tech, and tries to make up for it by throwing up an expansion. Creo scouts it with his wisp, and uses a staff of teleportation, along with the aid of some creeps, to destroy it. ReMinD chases him away though, and starts reconstruction immediately. At tier two now, ReMinD grabs a Dark Ranger, and starts to produce dryads from two lores. Creo has hit tier three though, and starts to train bears. He finds ReMinD's expo again, but teleports out as soon as ReMinD teleports in. Feeling he has the advantage, ReMinD decides to push Creo's base. In the ensuing battle, ReMinD loses his Dark Ranger, and takes a huge blow to the health of his army. Creo takes the initiative and attacks the expansion. Before porting in, ReMinD makes sure to grab some scrolls of healing to give him a fighting chance. ReMinD arrives, but Creo gets great positioning which gives ReMinD the decision to retreat or lose his entire army. ReMinD retreats and loses his expo. With the game in hand, Creo pushes onward to the base of ReMinD. His army is much stronger, and without the expansion, ReMinD has no choice but to admit defeat. Creo wins his last tournament before retirement. |
