Darkfire_ interviews the leader of exponential gaming who recently defeated Team Excello in HTGL Exponential Gaming has been around for quite a while, starting off under the name v3. They were the runner up in CAL Season 4, which allowed them to get sponsored by Exploit Gaming. The roster back then was completely different, which has changed in time. The new eXp team, which is no longer sponsored but kept the tag, is looking to be a strong team in the upcoming Prime Defending tournament. With a solid win against Excello, the top Canadian team as of now for HTGL Pro, EXP is looking to rank high in the Prime Defending tournament. Interview with eXp|Gosu Name: Michael Kuenzel Age: 20 Location: St. Paul, Minnesota Past Teams: None How long have you played DotA: Too long to remember, but only competetively for about a year and a half. What role do you play for your team: Truthfully I play whatever we need at the time, but usually that is solo/carry. Favorite Team: MYM Favorite Player: Merlini Favorite Hero: Silencer Favorite Item: Radience Favorite Food: Fetuccini Alfredo Favorite Drink: Sprite Favorite Band: Casting Crowns Hey Gosu, can you tell us your name and a little about yourself? Well, I am a 20 year old full time employee at a boring job:) I work, play games, and hang out with my girlfriend, and that is my life! You just came off of a strong with against xLo, who is supposedly the best Canadian team, how are you feeling now? xLo is hands down the best team in Canada, and one of the top teams in North America, so the win made us feel really well. We have been practicing that strategy for a long time coming and we wanted to wait for a good match to bring it out, and it payed off. What do you feel your teams strong points are, and your teams weak points? Our groups teamwork has improved drastically in the past month. Our team does not have the individual skill that competes with top teams, but our teamwork is getting better and we should be giving teams harder games. Who are the players on your team and their role on the team? Taint- Taint plays whatever his best hero is in the lineup, which is usually a solo or a very important hero. Gudu- Plays support and tries not to feed too hard!! Rixan- Support player or what we need. Dance- Plays some kind of stunner support hero such as SK or Lina. Luzzy- Luzzy plays what his best hero is. He is pretty versatile because he can solo nuke heroes or play in a duel lane just as well. EXP has not really been that largely known in the DotA community, do you feel the team is ready to be playing against the top teams around? I am surprised nobody has heard of us to be honest. We have been around for about a year now, and I guess the fact that we do not play in DXD or DPL would explain why. We mainly play in Ihcs2 and Ihcs1, so a lot of the Americans don't recognize us. I don't know if we will be able to compete with the top teams as of yet, but hopefully soon enough we will get to that stage and get some good games in against some solid teams. How's the team preparing for the upcoming Prime Defending tournament? We practice daily if we can, and we play a lot together in IHCS. Thanks for the interview, anything you wish to add (including shoutouts)? I just want to say Doug is a noob, and Pink gets half a shoutout. |
