Maps: Echo Isles, Terenas Stand

Game One: Echo Isles

Choosing Random as his race, Axslav spawns as Undead on the right side of the map. He opens up with fiends, led by a Crypt Lord. Scouting this, ShrieK takes his Archmage and footmen and heads for a fast expansion. He gets it up with absolutely no harass from Axslav, and once it's all set up he heads over to his opponent's base. Axslav has been creeping up his hero, while teching in the mean time. ShrieK has a very successful harass, killing off two acolytes right in the middle of Axslav's tech, before he's pushed back.

Axslav doesn't seem to mind, and continues his creeping pattern. He picks up a Death Knight for his second hero, and places down a slaughter house. ShrieK keeps up his relentless harass, with his level two water elementals killing a good amount of Axslav's fineds while he was creeping. Axslav also scouted the expansion, and rather than trying to take it down, he decided to expand himself.

During this process, ShrieK has gained level five on his Archmage, and once again continues his harass on the base of Axslav, with only his two heroes - he trained a Mountain King second - and about five footmen. He's able to take down the slaughterhouse, and also the starting gold mine before he is forced to retreat. At this point it's hard to tell exactly what units ShrieK is going for, but it would seem that he's been teching for steam tanks.

He immediately heads down to Axslav's expansion with his small army of footmen, and takes it down. It becomes apparant to Axslav that he can no longer win, with both of his goldmines destroyed, ShrieK with an expansion and hero advantage, plus the fact that he hasn't seen any of the units that ShrieK has been teching towards.

Axslav takes the Crypt Lord.
ShrieK forces a TP from Axslav.

Game Two: Terenas Stand

Realizing that he has to win the next two maps in a row to advance from the group, Axslav chooses Night Elf as his race. He begins with a tavern build, and grabs the Dark Ranger as his hero, accompanied by archers. He heads straight to the gold mine to the north of his base, and sets up a fast expansion.

ShrieK has the same idea with his Archmage and footmen. Instead of going to the south gold mine though, he heads towards his natural. Much like last game, ShrieK heads straight to Axslav's base following the set up of his expansion. With a level three, ShrieK begins what would become the key to his victory this series - harassing. He's able to take down an ancient of war and a moonwell. Axslav manages to push him away though, to pick up a Panda, and continue his destruction of the creeps.

ShrieK hires a goblin shredder and a zeppelin, a combo that Axslav would fear by the end of the game. He used it to constantly harass the wood gathering wisps of Axslav, while slowly teching is way up to steam tanks. Axslav has been making dryads from two lores that he has placed near his expansion.

Axslav ends up losing his hero during a minor skirmish in the middle of the map, while his attention was diverted to saving his lumber wisps from the dreaded shredder, but he quickly revives it at the tavern. ShrieK uses goblin sappers to quickly take down Axslav's expansion, to further his economical advantage.

ShrieK finally adds both a Mountain King, and a Paladin, and along with about five to six steam tanks, he makes his final push. Axslav loses both of his heroes to the tri-hero combination of ShrieK, and upon seeing the steam tanks, quickly calls it a game.

Axslav defends his base.
ShrieK makes use of sappers.
