Warcraft 3: xiaOt replaces Lyc in WCG, Sky moves to Group D

WCG China winner Lyc won't attend the World Cyber Games this coming October.
Yanchao "Colorful.Lyc" Lu, the winner of the WCG China qualifier, will be unable to attend the Grand Finals in Seattle.

The reason for Lu's absence is due to his inability to obtain a visa at the US Embassy, leaving him to forfeit his appearance next week.

Gotfrag contacted Shiva, a Korean WCG organizer, to explain what this would mean to the tournament.

Apparently, if no replacement is found, then Lyc's spot will be left blank (in Group D) while Sky and Fly maintain their original seedings in group F and H, respectively.

Shiva continues to explain the case when a replacement is found, "in case of the 1st player unable to come to Seattle, then the 2nd seed moves to 1st place, the 3rd seed goes to the 2nd place and the new replacement takes the 3rd seed spot."

Li Wei "xiaOt" Sun, who finished 7th-8th in the WCG qualifiers will be able to attend the WCG, making him the replacement for Lyc and putting him on Group H, which was formerly Fly's group.

It seems that other finalists such as Like (4th), suhO/Rabbit (5th-6th) and Hopestar (7th-8th) are unable to attend of won't be able to obtain a visa at such short notice as well.

This makes Group D the hardest group in the tournament with the new addition of Sky. Prior to Sky being moved, that group was already considered the "Group of Death" with players such as SoJu, Lyn, Ciara and Zeus sharing the field.

Fly100% now occupies an easier spot in Group F, facing TitaN and MysT compared to his old group with Grubby, DeMusliM and Giacomo.
