The CeBIT technology exposition in Hannover, Germany will be playing host to two separate Warcraft III events this weekend. Alongside the Extreme Masters will be the Samsung Euro Championships. The action will kick off Thursday morning with exciting group matches from the Extreme Masters.

Yoan "ToD" Merlo will look to defend his title, as he is the reigning Extreme Masters champion. He's being challenged by seven of the best Warcraft gamers in Europe, who all qualified through the online Extreme Masters season. They will be joined by two Korean gamers who earned their spot by being the top two at the Los Angeles event.

Starting with two group stages, the winner will automatically advanced to the double elimination playoffs. The second place finisher of each group will go on to play the third place finisher in the opposing group, where the victor will advance to the playoffs. The remaining players will then fight for the title of Extreme Masters II champion.
