While the Extreme Masters Finals are taking place, another seemingly lesser tournament is set to go underway simultaneously. The Samsung European Championships, also being held at CeBIT, will feature sixteen gamers from sixteen different countries. Each contender won their respective country qualifier last year, and competed at the World Cyber Games Global Finals in Seattle, Washington in 2007. The event will be using the classic double elimination bracket system.

Three players will be competing in both tournaments this weekend. ToD, Grubby, and HoT have done this before however, at last year's CeBIT expo.
