Warcraft 3: Gravitas Gaming acquires elfittaja

By: Jaclyn Lo - Published April 12, 2008 at 3:51 PM EDT - Writer Archive
After leaving his former team hoorai, elfittaja finds himself as part of the Russian squad, Gravitas.
UPDATE: According to an interview of hoorai's manager -- Jerome Evans, by readmore.de -- elfittaja will not be able to play for Gravitas Gaming since his contract with hoorai is still binding. Jerome even affirms that if he will, he could use the contract to "force him to continue playing for us".

On the other hand, Gravitas Gaming managers have issued their own press release regarding the matter. "We've tried numerous times to deal with this issue privately with hoorai, but they continue to insist on bringing it to a public forum. After consulting with our legal council on a number of occasions before signing Samuli, we are more than confident that both Gravitas and Samuli stand on the correct side of this issue. We hope soon that hoorai see this for what it really is, and not continue to libel our team and player."

The rest of the Gravitas Gaming statement can be found here.

Additionally, the managers of hoorai has sent receipts to Readmore.de that shows that the clan has indeed sent Sihvonen's salary. This disputes Gravitas' claim that Sihvonen has not been receiving his salary and has not been paid back for travel expenses.

A few weeks ago, Samuli "elfittaja" Sihvonen left the predominantly Finnish clan, hoorai.

The team proclaimed that they wanted to continue to work with Sihvonen, but disagreements between the management and the young player resulted in a parting of ways.

Gravitas managed to secure the talents of this Undead player and now is part of their roster. In his interview posted in the Gravitas website, Sihvonen states, "I was in hoorai something like 6 months and I really didn’t see any development in my skills, so I hope I can become better in [a] new environment."

Sihvonen states another motivation in joining Gravitas in the interview. "I was really happy that I was wanted [to be] in a big team which can reach LAN finals since Hoorai is full of talented players but it doesn't have the big stars that Gravitas has."

Additionally, it was announced that Sihvonen will be part of the CESO roster that will occur with Beijing, China during the tail-end of April. He will participate alongside HoT, TitaN and XyLigaN.

More interview questions can be found at the Gravitas website, which is linked at the end of this post.

Elfittaja is Finnish, not Belarussian. Great lineup indeed, they can do some serious damage now.

LoL... I would trust elffi more than the hoorai staff... hoorai is an iffy organization... there is a reason why hoorai.cs(roccat) left.
