World of Warcraft: WSVG Dallas WOW Day 2

By: Aaron M. Wall - Published July 06, 2007 at 11:34 PM EDT - Writer Archive
WSVG WoW Day 2 played out quickly with good games as the strongest teams clenched their place at the end of the upper bracket.
Day 2 of the WSVG WoW 3v3 event in Dallas played cleanly without delay, with match results winding up mostly as expected. It became evident that the extra time invested into character setup on Day 1 paid off with less preparation needed between matches afterwards.

Pandemic easily swept the TAO team into the lower bracket, reaffirming that the competitive nature of the game has certainly been elevated since TAO's day of self-professed "Warsong Gulch domination". Judging the team from their one set against Pandemic isn't entirely fair however, and they may still find their bearings in the lower bracket.

Team EG and 519 had an impressive rematch series, with playful trash talk being thrown back and forth during and between matches. The two teams faced off at the end of the lower bracket in Louisville with 519 coming out ahead, but this time EG took the series 3-1. 519 played a Warrior/Warlock/Paladin setup in Louisville yet changed to a Warrior/Resto Shaman/Paladin setup this time to face off against EG. Team EG expressed that they felt both class compositions were challenging to theirs, but that the Warrior/Shaman/Paladin was more of a threat.

Team EG's Brian "Tiz" Gustafson said of 519, "We made a tactical mistake in Louisville. They weren't that good of a team and had a class comp. advantage on us. We made the right choices this time."

'Golden Child' Zecks' MoB Turtle Force team cleanly swept their opponents High Caliber in an impressive display of coordinated burst damage and crowd control. The team has the potential to become a crowd favorite villain as they go for clean dunks on balanced traditional teams.

Tomorrow will open with a high profile highly anticipated match up between Pandemic and Team EG. The Mob Turtle Force vs Insurrection team will definitely be a good one to watch as well. Stay tuned - we have it covered!
